The Media Shifts the Lead
You know, in recent years, there has been much attack against the media machine. Republicans will decry that the media moguls and outlets all lean "left" and are considered to be "The Liberal Media", while the Democrats are often heard denouncing the media as a divisive tool doing the work of the "right" and consider it to be a "Conservative leaning media". I believe that there are certain outlets that do lean one way or another, and that there are certain key pundits that definitely make their money touting the spin and rhetoric of the two parties.
However, when I look at the media today and in recent months, I do not see them leaning for or against Democrats, or for or against Republicans. No, they seem to have taken an "against" position and have gone to every possible length to pick apart Hillary Clinton. I think it has become a fair insinuation to make that the media is definitely "against" Hillary Clinton. I have never witnessed such outward support of a candidate as the media has displayed for Barack Obama. I also do not buy into the whole, "Oh, he is such an effective speaker that he is able to command a room when he speaks." Sure, sure, I know media outlets endorse candidates, but that does not mean they have to slant the news to promote that candidate, because that would mean they were promoting their journalists and reporters to not be truthful 100% of the time and were definitely encouraging bias reporting.
Again, I am well aware that we have to take our news with an eye of scrutiny, because they have proven that untruths and half-truths sell news. However, what about the millions of other Americans that believe everything the news sheds light on is 100% truthful; and therefore if the news and media prop Obama up on a pedestal as the only real choice America has, then it would be fair to say that the media has corrupted the playing field with unjust bias. But, I cannot help feeling that this goes beyond the media and journalists already choosing a democrat candidate for the people based on his "likable" image and infectious words. Could it be that the media does not feel America is ready for a woman to hold the highest office in our country? Or, could it mean that the media is slanted toward the Republican side and this is their dirty dealings to get an Obama ticket, because they feel any Republican candidate would beat him in the general election? Or, is it a combination of the two, working together to steal the once large
