The Decline of America, what are the signs?
Well, Let's start with our eliminating God from our Country. What happened to His influence in our public life? Why are we so obsessed with the separation of Church and State? Did we or did we not found this country on the principle of freedom of religion. If so, then why do we get so upset if a community wants to put up a manger scene at Christmas time. Are we so weak in our own faiths that we let this bother us. Why can't we recognize that for some people it actually means something to them and reaffirms their faith to them. Get over it.
Why has sex become such a big part of our everyday lives? Everything you see and hear has sexual overtones. Why is that? They say sex sells, and it sure does, but should it be in our faces everyday, everywhere, all the time. There is nothing wrong with sex, sex is great, with the right person, but we don't need to sexualize our children before they are ready for it.
Right and Wrong. It's hard to tell where the line is anymore. What seems wrong suddenly seems to be right. What happened to our standards? Does character and integrity mean anything anymore? What happened to morals? Is nothing sacred anymore? Our Presidents, our Governor's, our Mayors, our priests, have all been involved in scandals, usually sexual in nature. These are our leaders? What's going on here? Our Sports heroes are involved in scandals too. What kind of example does this set for our kids?
What happened to honesty? Is it a thing of the past? Can we no longer trust anyone to "say what they mean and mean what they say". What happened to the time when a "man's word" meant everything?
Why can you no longer trust your employer and why can the employer no longer trust you?
What happened to the day when a person went to work for a company and stayed there thirty years, retired and had a decent retirement or pension from that company and then his or her son or daughter went to work there and stayed thirty years? People used to be proud to work for a company or organization because that organization or company paid them well, had good benefits and took care of them when they retired or if they became disabled. They had pride in working for that company. They spoke well of that company. They spent money at that company and encouraged others to do the same because they knew that their company had integrity. They knew their company was honest. They knew their company always put the customer first, and they were a customer
