Poetry: Second chance

by Allison Steinman

Created on: April 16, 2008

The breaks lock the tires skid,
You think oh man, I'm just a kid.
Crunching metal shattered glass,
this fateful ride might be your last.
Bounce clang bang roll,
close your eyes and pray for your soul.
Images blend and the world goes black,
God took you to heaven and then sent you back.
He said in the voice people respected the most,
look here son that call was close.
Ypur were driving too fast, whats wrong with your head?
By the laws of physics you should be clinically dead.
When you get the chance to live again,
stay true to yourself and be a good friend.
Anger less quickly show mercy and grace,
be as honest and real as that look on your face.
You should not be here today the end came too far in advance,
take this life and live it well, I've given you another chance.
