There is a great deal of bad on the internet, yet, I truly believe that the good of the internet outweighs that of the bad. Way back when I was in school, both grade school and college, I could only dream of having the research abilities of the internet. Well, to say the least, I did not even own a computer. The only thing that I had was a typewriter with correction ability and that was it. At the same time, now that we have the internet, the government does not need to spend a great deal of time or effort in monitoring it. And, please, why, oh why, should the mention of taxing the internet even be a subject? I already believe that we need another Boston Tea Party or something that represents such an event to show our government that we should be living by the standard saying, "No taxation without representation."

Today, all we hear about is the corruption of government officials. They are either embezzling money, committing adultery or we are finding out that members of government are not who they say they are. If this is the case, which it is, then why should we trust the government in monitoring the power of the internet. Thank God for it and we should not let it falter. The only way that this could happen is by putting government control over it.

The internet, like I said in my opening paragraph is bad to some degree, but then again, the good does outweigh the bad. Students of all ages that know how to use the internet, must learn that its power can increase their knowledge. They should not have the ability to learn how to do harm to others through the internet. This is where the parents come in. There are great parental controls and they should be used for the purpose of protecting themselves as well as their children.

I am not going to sit here and say that the government should not act against those who
