I try to help but I am pushed away
I talk but the words get lost
In the silence they all but drift away
I try to reach them at all costs
One day they will look back
And wonder why time was wasted
On the certainty they lack
All rational thought they hasted
My hand I place for them to reach
They don't see it for they're blind
They think I just want to teach
All I want to do is reach their mind
Their thoughts I want to penetrate
Their hearts I want to mend
Their lives I am waiting to elate
Their pain I want to end
