If you have a look to all the different topics and the articles on the site you can see that helium's writers define their articles on different ways.
There are writers who give a long thesis about the topic with valuable information but sometimes they forget to make different paragraphs which makes it difficult to read.
Others write a shorter article but these contains sometimes more content then the longer article. They write exactly what the topic is about and that is what the most people are searching for.
It is difficult to say if it is better to define an article on a short way or a longer thesis. It depends of the kind of topic. You can find topics where you can write a lot of information about but important is that you stay right to the point and don't first give an introduction which has nothing to do with the topic.
In my opinion the most important things are:
- the necessary information
- a good style
- good grammar and without spelling mistakes
- an example can be useful in some topics
- personal opinion
- don't use difficult words
If you want to get a good ranking, and I think everyone wants that, don't make your article too long because most of the writers who also do the ratings don't read the full article if they rate them.
You can find a lot of useful information on this site. Keep in mind that if people want to search for certain information they like to find it in the articles and that they don't want to find articles outside the question.
