Useful Household Tips

Did you know that Alka-Seltzer could polish your jewelry and clean a toilet? Or that by putting a sealed envelope in the freezer it will allow you to open it and reseal it?

These are just a few of the useful household tips below. Some of these are common knowledge, but there are some tips that just might surprise you!

Cleaning Tips:
1. Toilet Clean: Put Efferdent or Alka-Seltzer in the toilet overnight will remove stains and hard water deposits.

2. Clean Car Smell: Put a few pieces of charcoal under the seat of your car to absorb odors. It will also keep your car smelling fresh. Do not use the type of charcoal that has starter fluid on it.
3. Clean Windows: Use a newspaper to dry your freshly washed windows. It is better than a paper towel and doesn't streak.
4. Brighter Clothes: When you wash your clothes, add the detergent to the washer first. If you pour the detergent on the clothes after they're in the washer, it will cause them to fade.
5. Fridge Mildew: Wipe the inside of the fridge with vinegar to prevent mildew. The acid in the vinegar kills the mildew fungus.
6. Dirty Stove Top: Make it easy to clean by rubbing it down with car wax every once in awhile.
7. Burnt Pans: Put some fabric softener in the pan and let it soak over night. You should be able to clean out the burned food the next day.
8. Burnt Pans 2: Fill the pan with Coke and boil.
9. Removing Bloodstains: Just use shampoo or peroxide.
10.Clean Microwave: Soak a sponge in the microwave and cook on high heat for 2 minutes. All it to sit without opening the door for 5 minutes. The cooked on food will easily clean off now.

First Aid Tips
1. Fresh Breath: Gargle with baking soda for whiter teeth and fresh breath. It also heals mouth sores.
2. Bug Bite Relief: Apply a baking soda and water paste to bug, bee, wasp, ant or any kind of bug bite for quicker healing.
3. Tired Eyes or Pain: Combine 1 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of honey for 5 minutes. Use a cloth to dip into the combination and apply to your closed eye for relief.
4. Fatigue: Combine a glass of grapefruit juice and lemon juice in equal parts to chase away fatigue and general tiredness after a day's work.
5. Hangover: Place some honey on crackers. The fructose in the honey will help flush the alcohol out of your system and the crackers will help with the nausea.
6. Headache: Eat almonds. Eat about 10-15 almonds for a headache.
7. Morning Sickness: Combine 1 teaspoon of fresh mint juice and limejuice, and 1 Tablespoon of honey. Take 3
