Other countries have no right to tell another county (Lebanon) how to address any problem it may face, and meddling in another's business is risky business, with well earned consequences. Where the international community can assist in, is to review the last 60 years of history in the region, identify all of the factors and parties that have lead to the present issues, that affect not only Lebanon, but also all of the countries, that have been directly hit with the after math in the creation of Israel, and its ensnare. Let's not forget that hundred of thousands of Palestinians lost land deeds to their (homes) properties within the pre-existing borders of Palestine, now the state of Israel, due to the policies of nullifying these deeds, with Israel's creation. The state of Israel underestimated the fact that the Palestinians are attached to neighboring countries, through the brotherhood of Islam. Which brother would not stand up in the defense of one's brother.
The airing of a television commercial commemorating the 60th anniversary of the creation of the state of Israel, in today's airways, states that these 60 years have been the happiest years for Israel, what the ad shows is arrogance, in that perhaps is has been the happiest for Israel, yet worse for all the families, of numerous counties who have lost family members to death, by acts of war. This commercial is literally a slap on the face to the entire world. On the other hand, there's an ignorance in parties affected by the source, to believe that dropping planes from the sky, slamming them into buildings and blowing up innocent people, will lead to concessions from good willed people, around the world, that do not share their brotherhood. It is said that the pen is mightier than the sword, and perhaps a campaign of correspondence to had met the goal a long time ago.
Ironic is that the Palestinians and the Israeli people lived together within the borders of Palestine for thousands of years, and are both one people, blood related. Here in the United States, in the inner cities, they do business together. The solution to the Israeli/Palestine conflict, thus resulting in pacifying the region is for Israel to return these lands within the present state of Israel, to the Palestinians who rightfully hold deeds to them, and allow for them to choose to become citizens of Israel or to hold dual citizenship with the West Bank or Gaza.
