When I was a little girl you were my world, I knew you were who I would grow up to be. My hero, my strength through the tough times,my joy when all else was gone. The challenges of every day were merely hurdles to be overcome. Y0our strength soon became mine.
When I grew older and became a teen my childhood thoughts and dreams were put away. IO knew it all and you nothing, no longer were you the one who hung the moon and stars. Yet you still held your strength and added understanding, quietly being my mighty oak through the storms of time; still leading, teaching, loving. Older still I grew, then I became a mom and your arms I ran to once again. That is when your understanding became mine.
As a mom I realized that as a teen I was wrong and my childhood hopes and dreams became one again, this time as a true hope, a goal. I would be like you; your never ending strength and undying understanding showed me that all this time you would be loyal to the end of time. Because of you I learned and loved and grew, now I'm proud to say I am a mom so much like you. You are my inspiration through the storms of time.
Mom though you've been gone for so long I hold you close to my heart still you are my strength like a mighty oak, my understanding when all has come and gone, my joy when all else fails, my love when I feel none.
Mom this tribute is for you on Mothers Day
