Night
I fear the night, my love
As it closes in on me
And wraps its lonely cloak
Around my world, my love.
I fight the night, my love
As it presses down so weighty
And suffers me to choke back day
In self defense, my love.
But, just as this ominous nocturnal (k)night
Charges with outstretched javelins of time and distance,
I parry, and thrust deep into its' heart
With thoughts of you and love.
Then, I sleep.
