TV show reviews: Quantum Leap

Time when bent into a circle will let one see himself back again, or something like that with Albert Einstein's theory of Quantum Physics.Aired in 1989 to 1993 on the NBC Network, the TV Series portray Dr Sam Beckett as a researcher for the Department of Air Force whom stepped into the Project Quantum Accelerator with no one to guide him, other than a friend, Albert Calavinci, an Admiral in the US Navy.Other relevant characters includes Gooshie, the technical guy and Ziggy the Artificial Intelligence whom is a lady with other 200 Gigabits of memory and processing power at the point of time, where the huge computer and theory would have worked in the new Millennium.

The theory of relativity is astonishing in the series with 97 Episodes, one Trilogy and a couple of twist and turns of history, but at point of time on Episode 54, Season 4 The Leap Back, where Sam was struck by lightning in the previous episode and Al and Sam switched sides.Al, for once is actually playing his own role in 1945, as real life to save Sam's former girlfriend and future wife.

Quantum Leap is more or less a circle of leaps to rectify what once was wrong to right as with the last few episodes, the viewers can understand that Gooshi is actually related to Albert Calavinci and Sam intertwined in the relation of their life. Sam leaped many times into the body of his fore fathers and in one episode or trilogy, the Abigail murder, Sam actually fathered a girl, whilst being trapped in the guy's body, not knowing that the girl that is trying to save him in the real world of 1999 is actually his daughter. Just like Al had leaped into Sam's body without knowing in the episode where while leaping Sam was struck by lightning, the plot thickens, when Sam can't do anything without the help of Ziggy through the hand held device which was basically a blinking set of Lego blocks (or a PDA in this era) and Al had to get help so Sam can go to the waiting room by sending a Western Union Post of $100 with the money at that time to himself and Gooshi. Somewhat Back to the Future used that plot too.

It's a Geek's best dream , better than Star Trek even as Star Trek is too far into our next generations, whereas this is just , Beyond 2000.

So, in all, what goes around, comes around, and it's sad that Dr Samuel Beckett did not come back to the time line, and I seriously would like to see a new run of that, with Scott Bakula playing in Star Trek Enterprise (series One,First Contact), Sea Quest DSV and many other Sci-Fi series, it's something I really missed.
