Many people may know that MSG (Monosodium Glutamate)is added to food to enhance the "flavor" of the food. What they may not know is that they could very well be allergic to this highly toxic substance. There is a wide range of negative reactions depending on the amount of MSG consumed and a person's sensitivity.
The MSG-reaction is a reaction to free gultamic acid that occurs in food as a consequence of manufacture. MSG -sensitive people do not react to protein (which contains bound glutamic acid) or any of the minute amounts of free glutamic acid that might be found in unadulterated, unfermented, food. Negative reactions and devastating affects can range from; Alzheimer, Leukemia, Migraines, Strokes, Obesity, depression, and the list goes on. (Cancer also feeds on MSG.)
In todays food market it is almost impossible to avoid the consumption of this toxic substance, as it is added to most foods to enhance the "flavor".
Let me explain, as a person who has suffered from the negative affects of MSG for the past 25 years. My reactions to this toxic substance has always been that of Stroke symptoms -(two different types of migraines at once.) First I notice an Ora (a blank spot in the middle of what ever I look at.) Then my left hand and arm goes numb and the numbness works its way up to the left side of my face. I get nauseated and throw up. I can not talk and I am incoherent. After about 15 minutes of that, I get a screaming headache on the right side of my head that last for 3 days. On the fourth and fifth day of this true migraine I am off balance and have a painful tightening in my neck, shoulders and back.
Luckily, Over the years, by doing my own research and going to my neurologist, I have found that taking the vitamin (slo-mag)-magnesium chloride, helps to counter react the MSG. I have also learned to try and stay away from MSG by reading food labels.
Under Current FDA regulations, when MSG is added to a food, it must be identified in the label's ingredient list to alert individuals sensitive to MSG. The Labeling of MSG is very deceiving. There are many names of ingredients that contain MSG. If you or someone you know think you may be sensitive to MSG please visit (www.truthinlabeling.org) for the long list of ingredients that contain enough MSG to serve as common MSG-reaction triggers.
