Night Sky

The midnight maiden smiles
As I look up to the skies
Her happy face belies
The countless tears
That pierce the black.
Even so I smile back
Though tears have been shed
I know it's for the best
For I have passed the test.
Forged by flame
Burned by the fire
Tempted by the pyre
I have made it through
The rest is up to you.
