Writing an article on Helium is a little different than on other sites. You can fill the article with information without having to sound extremely formal. Sometimes the topics are for opinions and it is important to support your opinion. I don't feel it is truly an article to simply say that something is good or bad. For the opinion articles give examples and state why you have your opinion.
For the information articles, I think that Helium is a fantastic resource. Writers are able to review what has been written and add even more information to the topic. Since the articles are all clumped together, it makes searching for the information much faster. Articles requiring information should be longer then a couple of sentences. Let the reader walk away with a sense of learning and knowledge gained.
