Poetry: Beginning a relationship

by Andrea Cormier

Created on: April 15, 2008

Someone imperfect, but yet flawless.
Not to make it obvious.
Once known long ago.
It's now a mystery to uncover.

Curiosity is haunting me.
Fear holds sway.
Making it impossible for words to flow
So that I might say.

I think about you constantly.
Can you read my mind?
Gathering words hard to find.
Am I not obvious?

Felt for from a distance.
Closed up when in sight.
Wanting to tell you you're my constant.
Wondering when the time is right.

I fell behind, waiting for your lead.
Follow the bread crumbs, turn around.
Trying not to make it obvious, but...
Listen to the announcement as it sounds.

I wish you'd see how my arms are open.
Fear keeps me from telling you straight.
Only thing is, my hopes keep on talking.
Are you ever going to nibble at the bait?

Not to make it obvious, but...
Seriously, how can you not know?
Second chances are given for a reason!
They are meant to be taken advantage of, and show.

Life gets handed to you.
What do you do?
Make it clear, obvious to all!
When given a second chance, you take hold.

So don't be afraid to make the first move...
Be Bold.
