AuthorWriting about the "other" Aloes

Posted on Apr 06, 09 at 05:02 PM

There seem to be a whole bunch of articles about Aloe vera on Helium.  I guess we all know that there are loads of other Aloes and Aloaceae (or is that a subgroup of the Aspodelaceae?) which are worth growing.  I tried submitting the title: "Choosing Aloes and their relatives for you home" but whoever decided these things thought it too confusing and unclear.  I included things like "Gasteria" and "Haworthia" in the keywords - didn't somebody Google them to get an idea what I was talking about?  Then I tried "Houseplant Aloes (not just vera)" but didn't even get a reply.

Is there are problem with titles being chosen by people who don't understand the subject matter? Aloes and their relatives are a major and common group of succulents with many members which are attractive and easy to grow houseplants but as far as Helium is concerned, it only seems to inclued one species!
