AuthorWelcome to the underground Conservative forum

Now that the looney toon press and Hollywood dopes have had their way and elected B. Hussein Obama as "Spender-in-Chief," we'll need to keep the flame of Conservatism flickering. Sad to say, our chief guardian, John McCain, was not and will not be up to the task as Republicans wander leaderless through the upconming holocaust.

How did we get to a place where government is seen as the answer to our economic woes? Why couldn't George Bush stick to the principles that earned him two terms? Instead, with both hands he gave credibility to the notion that the federal treasury was the source and salvation to self-inflicted problems. Who would have thought that George W. Bush might be looked at as the founder of European socialism in America?

It is almost to tragic and ironic to think about.

I agree with you Jerry - I saw an article somewhere that mentioned David Petraeus to run for president in 2012, but that might be wishful thinking on someone's part.  I know nothing about his political leanings either, but I think we can say if he were to oppose BO he would not be a Democrat.

You know, I never thought about our new President's initials, BO! Perhaps we can come up with a campaign slogan for the midterm elections: Vote Republican and fight BO! Hah!

Hey Jerry & Mona,

It's nice to have a forum strictly for conservatives. Now if we can just get the Republicans to make as effective use as BO did in the last election cycle. Obviously, we can't trust the MSM to get our message out. Now is the time to get the organization for 2010 and 2012 started. If not, we're going to be so far behind the Dems or Dams as I prefer to think of them; that we won't have a chance to at least regain control of the House and get rid of Pelosi.

I think we have a rough 2 years ahead of us. Don't think BO's stimulous will work, but, whatever happens I'm afraid he comes out ahead. If it works he's the next boy genius and if it fails, he can always blame it on the Bush Administration.

Hello everyone I just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Chris, and I joined this forum, because with our new Socialist president trying to bring back the fairness doctrine, I thought us conservatives need to seek each other out and stick together.

If we all really looked at the last Bush presidency, it can be noted that most of the initiatives that Bush tried to start were killed not only by the liberal democrats but many of his own party.

Bush tried to get something done about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack six years ago in 2002, when he warned about unsustainable lending. Only problem is that the institution is run by 70% democratic patronage and 30% republican patronage. Frank, Pelosi and gang would have none of it since that would undermine their power base.

Bush tried to open a dialogue about Social Security and partial privatization. Again, any solutions without monumental catastrophe are not allowed in Washington.

Obama will need to pay back the entire Kennedy clan for this election. He had the support of the Kennedy’s and the chairman of the Democratic Party. That is how badly they did not want to see a Clinton White house again.

Oh well we are just going to have to get through this. I am making room in my house for my children and family that will be jobless for the next 4 years. Unfortunately the best way for Obama to keep power is to keep the economy is a deplorable condition.

Welcome, Christopher and Sheila! It's nice to know that we are not voices calling out in the wilderness. For example, did everyone know that fully 54% of Americans in a recent poll disagreed with the ghastly giveaway that His Eminence, BO, will sign up into law today? I'll start a new thread on that. I'll also update my Politics Zone. Feel free to pipe in.

Not too sure where I fit in when it comes to American politics but I'm very sure this forum will prove to be fun whatever - even if I do end up being your token Brit with liberal, nationalalist and slightly alien leanings!

Looking forward to the challenge :)
