U.S. troops shouldn't be in Iraq in the first place, as there was never any reason to invade
Iraq. Iraq had no mass destruction weapons, the Uranium threat turned out to be hoax, and Saddam had nothing to do with the events of 9/11. Why would anybody ask now "Should the U.S. troops withdraw from Iraq ?". The question is grossly impertinent, presuming the right to invade and occupy a country illegally, without any cause. Such audacious and arrogant claims have not been seen since the 3rd Reich, apparently now in session again, with a shifted epicenter though: the USA; and this time around the hunt is on Muslims.

That such a withdrawal might result in alleged "wider regional conflicts" and "ethnic cleansing", projects the claim that the U.S. military is fighting violence in Iraq, whereas the U.S. army itself causes the violence, as it is the aggressor, illegal invader, and provocateur of any and all crisis in that region. Blaming the victims for their enforced misery, caused by the U.S. regime's unjustified occupation and war crimes, is a crime by itself. The "regional conflicts" in Iraq and surrounding countries are wide enough already, due to the massive genocide the U.S. regime practices on the Iraqi nation, and therefore can not "widen" further. On the contrary, when the U.S. aggressors and affiliated allies finally let go of their pray and leave, peace will become a realistic possibility, at last.

As per "ethnic cleansing": Whether Sunnis, Shiites, and Kurds are of separate ethnic origin -or not- is and was always irrelevant to the west, so why would the west (pretend to) be concerned about their well-being all of a sudden now ? The answer is: the west is not concerned about their well-being, not even now. This fake interest is meant to continue to camouflage the real reasons for the U.S. military's presence in the Middle East: a) Oil, b) the biased support of Israel in its illegal occupation of Palestine, c) the ultimate goal to integrate the Middle East into the globalized west, where mega-corporations, military alliances, and industrial networks are devouring the rest of the world, systematically, knowingly, willingly, and deliberately.

Before the U.S. regime attacked Iraq, Iraq was a functional country, in which people worked, went to school, married, had children, produced food, etc. That Iraq's government was a dictatorship was not of U.S.' business. If people don't like their government, they can change it, by fighting it. Getting rid of Saddam, if justified, was Iraq's business, not the U.S.' . The U.S. administration made a joke of its definition of justice by mocking a trial on Saddam, in which he was practically hanged by a U.S-made CIA agent (Al-Maliqi) for killing his opposers. Saddam was also accused of killing Kurds. Turks are killing the Kurds as well, and have been doing so for decades. What was wrong for Saddam, is right for Turkey, as far as the U.S. regime is concerned, because Turkey is an ally of the U.S.A. As I write these lines, Bush and Erdogan are meeting in Washington, to discuss what means Turkey can use to crush the Kurds in Northern Iraq. It was Bush who, only 4 years ago, said in his pre-attack speeches, that Saddam killed the Kurds and the USA would save them. Need I say more about double standards, fake promises, lies, opportunistic aggressions ?

The Iraqi people never asked the U.S. for any kind of help, neither militarily, nor in any other fashion. George Bush, backed by the corporate-industrial -military complex (axis of evil) decided to attack Iraq, alleging that it had mass destruction weapons and was a threat to the entire world, under the glossy fairy-tale title of "Operation Iraqi Freedom", though not one single Iraqi had called the U.S. for help. I want to remind everybody that his allegations about mass destruction weapons were horrific, inexcusable, and gigantic lies, as the entire world knows now, which lead to the death of over 1 million Iraqis and about 4.000 American troops, who went into a self-inflicted mess, to die. This fact eliminates the discussion whether the U.S. army is entitled to continuance of its violence producing presence in Iraq. As the U.S. military is not entitled to a presence in Iraq, it must leave, regardless of so-called, alleged "regional conflicts" and such. The U.S. military is NOT and has NEVER been entitled to any presence in Iraq, period, and nothing can justify one single U.S. soldier's existence there. Any conflict in that region is the byproduct of this illegal occupation, caused by the U.S. regime. How does the U.S. regime justify the fact that Saddam's alleged dictatorship has been replaced by the U.S.' dictatorship ?

Last, not least, Americans should let go of their obsessive belief that they must police the world. Wherever some kind of unrest develops, whether real or staged (by the CIA, Mossad, or consortium), madame Condoleezza Rice pops up, to "mediate". Nobody is permitted to any actions until and unless Bush, Rice & comrades approve it. It appears, the world takes if for granted that the U.S.A, aka as the world's police-force, has a carte blanch on everything, everywhere, and any time. Americans themselves seemingly enjoy this power position by philosophizing about other nations' rights (or the lack of them), such as Kurds, Shiites, Sunnis, Turks, Armenians, Russians, the Chinese, Koreans, etc., as if these nations are a part of a fancy video game to entertain people, where clicks, fast turns, bombs and bullets can "resolve conflicts". Americans have been in Germany, Korea, or Turkey because of their military service, seldomly to visit, or as tourists. Other countries, in the minds of many Americans, are military targets, to be "visited" in uniform; therefore foreign casualties are just that. Desensitized Americans eat meals while watching the daily propaganda on tv, also known as "news", in which shredded bodies are displayed to viewers, after a pro-forma alert of graphic images. If it is true that what goes around comes around, the boomerang effect is certain.

America's blood-soaked scepter continues to hit the heads of defenseless nations as pleased, killing millions of people like ants on the ground, aimlessly. I read somewhere a very impressive political slogan: "Regime change starts at home". And when precisely will this process begin ? It will begin when the next recession hits our lives, to be followed by the next Great Depression. When people have no food on their table, they tend to desire changes. My prescription is not to wait that long, as it will be too late probably. Metastasized tumors are much harder to remove.

Whether you like the war in Iraq or not, the USA has no choice, it cannot withdraw from Iraq. When the presidential candidates are saying they will withdraw US troops from Iraq, it is called electioneering politics. They know, as well as anyone else, the numerous reasons why we cannot withdraw from Iraq with any real conscience. The media will babble on with whatever they want to say, because it will increase their ratings but it is always up to the individual to look at the facts before advocating a US withdrawal from Iraq.

The number one reason for not withdrawing from Iraq is the consequence of such action. Meaning, the overall safety and stability of middle east will simply evaporate. Iran will make a land grabbing bid in Iraq and the Sunnis and Shia elements will wipe each other out while in the process of hunting down the Kurds and the Christian community. Oil prices will sky rocket as iraqi oil will come to a grinding halt, hezbollah and/or Al Queda will have a safe haven once again within Iraq (or what will be left of Iraq). If such a action occurs, and Iran does get involved, we may see a Syrian involvement as well which will drag the already pissed off Saudi Arabia and their Sunni brothers to arms (or war) with Iran and their Shia (and terror) networks. The bloodshed and killing will be out of control and the bloodbath will have no stop any time soon. And if Israel's security does feel compromised, we might as well see a Israeli involvement in the fray, which will result in major international crisis. Basically, the entire world will be flipped upside down as Chaos reigns, oil production low (or none), regional security breakdown and widespread ethnic, religious and racial cleansing occurs. And this entire chain reaction will be the result of a US withdrawal from Iraq.

Another reason to not withdraw from Iraq is the MEK. For 17 years before the US invasion of Iraq, the exiled democratic government of Iran (or what is left of it) has been active in Iraq. Saddam gave them a safe haven in Iraq since these freedom fighters want to topple the oppressive theocracy in Iran. And now, People's Mujahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), also known as Mujahedin-e Khalq or "MEK" depend on the assistance from the United States of America to protect them aganist the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Quds Force. Clinton Administration had the state department list these freedom fighters as "terrorists" in order to placate Iran but to no avail. Today, tension with Iran continues to rise while the Iranian democratic government is still listed as terrorists. An independent group, represented by former Congressman Dick Armey, has assessed the basis for State Department's decision, finding State's decision was "fundamentally flawed." Dick Armey found MEK to be "a pro-democratic organization that for more than 40 years has worked to bring democracy and freedom to Iran...The MEK has repeatedly been a pawnsacrificed in US-Iranian and Franco-Iranian relations." Iran has managed to run a propaganda to paint these benevolent government of the people of Iran as a terrorist organization. A fundamental difference in ideologies exists between MEK and Iran's theocratic clerics - MEK believe in man's right to exercise free will and freedom of Speech while the Clerics clearly opposes that (their bigotry is law). A petition signed by more than five million Iraqis gave credit to MEK and their efforts in unifying Iraq's Diyala Province and acting as mediators between US forces and the Sunni tribal leaders and Iran sees these efforts by MEK as a challenge to them. If anti-war critics prevail in demanding a US withdrawal from Iraq, what will happen to MEK? The fate of MEK is one of but several considerations that must be well thought out prior to conducting a US withdrawal. Only the US Troops presence in Iraq is stopping Iran from seeking out and killing MEK members.

I am sure most of you can come up with more detailed reasons as to why we should stay in Iraq, bu the most important is our promise we made. The US has staked its reputation on Iraqi war. We made a promise to the Arab people and the people of Iraq that we will help them achieve Democracy, a concept that never existed in the entire history of that region. And if we relapse and withdraw, the Arab world will hold us responsible for what unfolds, and our credibility will be completely destroyed in the international arena, especially in Middle East. Recent world polls show large increases in favorable opinion of the USA (world average is 39.2%%) and a huge decline in anti-US feelings to 33.5%. We must stay in Iraq until the situation has improved, and as the situation improves, we must slowly withdraw over time. And before withdrawing, we must ensure the safety of MEK and other US Supporters in Iraq for the long run.
