The Mexican Mafia is not a theat the the United States, sure mexican influances may have increased in the united states and sure the mexican boreder and the US is a problem, but dispite the outside of the United States, with in the united states there are far more problems that should be a threat to the United States then the maffia or the gangs. from the north to the south and east to the west, there are numorous gangs and mafias through out the united states, and is the government doing anything about it nationally? I would say not a whole lot, other then the drug trafficing and drug bust not a whole lot is being done. And the gun control laws are not helping with the act instead its increasing the problem each year, so when asked if the Mexican Mafia is a threat, must ask yourself how does it make you feel? Because chances are even in your city there are gangs, and possably mafias, and truest me not a whole lot of people know what goes on in their town other then that part of town is not safe usually the west side or the south side. So if it is a threat and the United States is not doing anything, doesn't that mean according to them its at minimum. And if you did not know about the activity of your city, doesnt that mean your gangs are kind and not killing and murdering type, and unfortunatelly inless the whole city is in on it or the gangs are really getting at it then really there is nothing to worry about. In some places the mafias and gangs are in the polices, the courts, the government, and they protect you, and the Mexican Mafia is not a threat to the United States and never will as we have what it takes to keep it down and we will. The United States got bigger and better mafias then the mexicans can ever create. So no theat there bur the real threat could be the mafia that is calling all the shots of who lives and who does, such mafia is in the United States and its everywhere.

Chad Groening, in an article for OneNewsNow.com discusses a recently published book, "The Mexican Mafia" by Tony Rafael. This book has brought into the open the problem with the Mexican Mafia in the United States. Rafael's background as a street gang researcher makes him a good person to write about the "most secretive and most violent street gang." He views the Mexican Mafia as a more serious threat than the Crips and Bloods we often hear about.
The danger of the Mexican Mafia is that its actual membership is narrow (300 members), but the street army it controls has a membership of 40,000 people! The gangs agenda is violent and this army is "eager to advance" it.
The Mexican Mafia is fed by the illegal alien problem in the United States. The gang taxes' they people, and often recruit them as well. Like a cancer, the problem of the Mexican Mafia is spreading. It began on the West coast, but now has a presence on the East Coast. Rafael says that "Wherever you have enclaves of Hispanics and Hispanic immigrants, either first-generation or band-new ones or second-generation, the Mexican Mafia is colonizing in those areas." He credits the move into and across the country of some Hispanics with the crime movement that goes with them.
This dangerous gang of violent offenders is a canker growing on the United States. It is a domestic terrorist cell within our country that may cause us much more problem than Al Qaeda because they are within us, they are growing, and they have no scruples. This lethal combination makes them an ever present danger to all the citizens of the United States, and even the world.
Have we been so busy looking for terrorists from the other side of the world that we have forgotten to protect ourselves from the ones sneaking up from Mexico? Many illegal immigrants may be otherwise law abiding citizens looking for a better life, but many of them do not stop at breaking the immigration laws. They have no regard for the law at all, and they have no regard for life. They are an emerging threat that may eclipse the Al Qaeda threat if we do not begin closing our borders and dealing with those who reign terror on our own turf.
