Peanut

M&M's are the best candy ever made! Whether plain or peanut, they are unique. But what is better, plain or peanut?
As I get older, I get more of a sweet tooth. Maybe because my taste buds need more excitement? Who knows, but I do know I am in love with M&M peanuts. Oh, I have always loved them, since I was a kid all those years ago. But I would also eat plain M&M's as well. Not anymore baby, it is peanuts for me.
My wife and I both eat these balls of goodness, but I have to say I am more addicted to them. The outer candy coating, with it's sweet crunch is just fine, thank you. Then, breaking through the candy to the sweet, warm, chocolate. But wait...the fun is not over yet! The peanut awaits...
I must say, I have never had a bad peanut in an M&M candy. They have always been crunchy, tasty, and fresh-tasting. Sometimes, if I am really hungry I will eat 2 or 3 at a time.
Nothing curbs my hunger like these little devils, and I always feel satisfied. Maybe because I am getting good nutrition from the peanut. Unlike other candies, with just chocolate or candy, I don't feel as guilty eating M&M's? I don't know, but I do love them.
I'm not too fond of the calorie count, however. Just 4 of these babies are around 50 calories. Eat enough of them at one sitting and move to another belt buckle. But since I am addicted to them, it is quite difficult to stop eating them.
I used to just wolf them down without a care in the world. That was when I was young and had the metabolism of a blast furnace. Now, I just savor them one by one, knowing full well the calories I am consuming, but not giving a dang about it. Take too much good out of life and why live I always say.
It's just another example of things you love to eat but are fattening or bad for you or whatever. I just have to shut out the voice in my head that sounds like some schoolmarm scolding me, and annihilate the guilt I feel.
Lately, when we go shopping we are buying the biggest bag they sell. I love the color yellow, I love the weight of the bag, I love the resealable feature of the bag, I love...I love...I love...and I haven't even tasted one today yet. I'm not sick enough to break open the bag on the way home from the grocery store, but if I'm alone and hungry watch out.
Sometimes I open the bag, grab a few and stick them in my shirt pocket. My wife, when hungry, uses her antennae to come up to me and grab my nipple to get at the delectable goodies in my pocket. One time she grabbed my nipple in her lust to eat one, hence the name...nipples. But whatever you like to call them, M&M Peanuts are the best candy in the whole wide world. You can take that statement to the bank!

Plain

All M&M snacks are delicious. The wonderful chocolate covered with a candy shell in a perfect size for a great taste is a favorite option when buying candy. I have indulged in the peanut M&Ms on occasion but my favorite is definitely the plain. Here are some reasons why the plain M&Ms are the best choice.
One Rotten Nut Spoils the Whole Experience
I know that the Mars company who make M&Ms only select the freshest to go into the peanut variety, but sometimes you will bite into a peanut that leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. When this happens, the whole experience has been ruined. You have to worry about it happening again so you become more cautious. With plain M&Ms you know that each one will give you the flavor that you have come to expect.
Lingering Over The Treat
A favorite way I have to eat an M&M is to savor the taste for as long as I can. I let the candy shell slowly dissolve and then the chocolate will gradually follow. The experience can last as long as five minutes. I find pleasure in taking my time and relishing each moment. The same does not hold true with peanut M&Ms. You are left with a peanut at the end instead of the delicious chocolate taste.
Baking, Baking, Baking
If you are inclined to bake with M&Ms, the plain candy are much better for the experience. Can you imagine the scrumptious M&M cookies with peanuts? The plain provide the right size and shape for cookies. There are several recipes which call for the plain variety but I was hard pressed to find any that call for baking with the peanut option. Cooks who know choose plain M&Ms over peanut.
Less Bulk
The plain M&Ms are so much more compact. No space in the package is wasted with a big peanut. Your mouth is filled with just chocolate and candy shell instead of the large bulky peanut. The shape is also more convenient. You can add more to a container for snacking. When you fill up a bowl or even your hand you get so many more with the plain M&Ms.
For a chocolate snack nothing beats a delightful M&M of any variety! But if I had my preference, I feel that the plain M&Ms are far superior to the peanut.
