Are extended remembrances of Princess Diana correct to her legacy or have they gone overboard?

Anytime that a remembrance extends legacy to the blue-bloods is way overboard because they have already taken more that they need to survive. This whole royalist thing is out-dated and against the freedoms of the people. When we witnessed Diana receiving a note from the Queen of England instructing her to cease and diciest from the volunteer work she was doing with AIDS infected people of Africa. It was even a territory held by the Queen, so by all means, to live up to the legacy of the Royal Family there was no reason for the Queen to remember those people. To extend any remembrance to the work of the Princess would be to promote things the Queen wants nothing to do with. There are many factors to consider when remembering a person. I'm sure the Queen would not want us to remember that Diana's legacy far exceeds the expectations one might have of royalty: that's why it takes longer.

Princess Diana was a real person and she allowed her princes to be genuine people. She even put blue-jeans on William and Harry a privilege that most royalty is not allowed to have. Do get me wrong, I love the dark-ages but I would rather be a member of the Royal Dutch Shell family because their environment scheme is working wonders in the grand scheme of petrol dominance in the market. The royal family used to dominate the world with their civilization machine that makes everyone's life better because we are willing to sacrifice a few caribou to lay a pipe-line across their migration path. Bottom-line no one should have to endure anything that extends the fact that Diana layed some pipe-line with Charles. Legacy?

The only legacy that we should remember of the Princess is her philanthropy not the fact that she is royalty. Besides that point we are friendly with England, look at Mr. Blair and Mr. President. These two have a relationship that only the walls could describe because the fun is classified for now. We're getting a little off subject so let's get back to bed with the late princess, because her legacy will out last the negative publicity about her. She is a real person.

There is no need to extend the remembrance of the royal family any longer than we have already in news with the President's and the Tony's engagement in war. It's twisted, I know. We should be extending the the legacy of love that the Princess procured, but at the same time we shouldn't because there is a war being fought in the homes of many Iraqis. This is due to the rules of engagement in war. I'm terrified with the legacy that America and the U.K. is creating in the holy-land, but man this knighting of Sir Elton combined with gay-marriage talk: It could get ugly? Extended-remembrance s can become crushing in the legacy of any individual but we need to remember that there are two sides on every coin. If we remember Diana more than we remember the love-affair between waring nations then we are less likely to remember the legacy that has arched us into the millennium of neo-swine. I always remember to extend the proper amount of time in understanding the legacy, not just looking at how attractive it is and making it take longer.

After all the fairy tales, we saw a real life princess and we fell in love with her. In Great Britain she was known as the people's princess, but here in America she was the first "real" princess we had ever known. She was a young, beautiful, spirited girl, with high ideals. It was as if the fairy tales of our youth had come alive, and we couldn't get enough of her.

Princess Diana was the embodiment of all we strive to be. In spite of her privileged station in life, she cared deeply about the human condition, and her generosity of spirit in that respect is well documented. She was a soul mate to the world, and the lives she touched and improved cannot be measured.

At the same time, Diana was human and had her faults and shortcomings, like the rest of us. She was not afraid to show this side of herself to the world, and she endeared herself to us because of her openness, honesty and vulnerability.

Diana' s greatest legacy is her two sons. She was a mother first and foremost, another reason we identified so closely with her. Watching those two young boys walk behind their mother's casket after her tragic death broke our hearts, and we continue to be interested in every detail of their lives ten years later. We are vicariously looking out for Diana's interest.

Diana's life was cut short. As with so many celebrities and public figures, remembrances of her are laced with projections of what might have been. Other examples: John F. Kennedy and James Dean. They are heroes of our time, taken while their star shone the brightest. Tributes and remembrances are the only way we can fulfill their destiny, in our minds.

Prince William and Prince Harry were not able to express their own tribute to their mother as young boys. Now that they are grown, it is appropriate and fitting for them to honor their mother in front of the world which embraced her. I hope they will continue to do so on her future birthdays.

I would rather the media be filled with repeated tributes to a role model of decency like Princess Diana than some of the fare we are subjected to, like the reality shows that inundate the airwaves.

Our admiration for Diana Spencer lives on, her greatest legacy lives on, and so should the remembrances and tributes for this young woman who was such an inspiration and role model for too short a time.
