I have been to many amusement parks and have never encountered a problem on any ride. Before opening a new ride the park goes through countless tests. Computer programs such as CAD, and Autodesk Viz are used to test the structure of rides and find the weak points so that they can be worked on and ultimately fixed. Also, the ride is run without passengers and then with dummies to simulate an actual run on lets say a roller coaster. If there is a problem it is immediately fixed.

Amusements parks need their customers to be satisfied. If an accident happens, it is possible for the ride to be shut down, and the park loses millions. Would you like to lose that much money? I did not think so. On top of that, lawsuits will ensue and negative publicity is brought to the park. An amusement park chain such as Six Flags would cripple if King Daka derailed and killed thirty people.

The parks make sure that the rides are safe before opening them to the public. Do not be afraid if a freak accident happens somewhere in Iowa at Reggie's Fun Land. Amusement parks are great for thrill seekers and family vacations. People should not be intimidated my the rides at amusement parks and instead should enjoy them.

In England, we have a local fair that comes to Hull every October for about two weeks.
There was one occasion where a couple of teenagers went on a rollercoaster, but the safety gate/belt did not lock right. So when they went upside-down at the top of the ride, one of the young girls fell out, dropping from the carriage, all the way to the ground, hitting all the tracks and metal framework on the way down.
Surprisingly, and fortunately, she lived. Albeit with a lot of broken bones and severe bruising.
But this was not an only case, there were several others similar to this.
The cases were not just limited to the local fair at Hull, but in other cities around England.
Safety Gates were not locking right so children fell out, wheels came off carriages so that they derailed when going round corners, bits of track on rides where missing, the controls that stopped the rides where not working properly. These are just some instances of rides not working properly, and we let our children go on them?
It is either the operators of the ride not completing efficient safety checks, or the ride should not be out there altogether.
