Ok, if they weren't safe, would you take your children on them? Everyday amusement parks make thousands of dollars, not because they're food is good, or not because people like to walk around in the heat, but because they like to ride the rides. I guess we can't necessarily say that they ARE safe...but can we say that they are not? There are several tests done on these rides everyday just to make sure they are safe. Every year I go to Paramount Kings Island, there is always at least one ride that replaced another, or a ride is closed at the moment for testing. These amusement parks do everything they can to keep there rides up and running safely and correctly. Do we question the safety of automobiles, or the safety of airplanes? No. Why? Because we have certain tests that are done that tell us if they are safe or not. The same thing goes for amusement park rides. Why would an amusement park want to allow customers to ride an unsafe ride? Not only would they be losing millions of dollars of profit, but they would also lose their credibility. Nobody would want to go to an amusement park where several reports of malfunctioning rides have occurred. Not only does the amusement park look out for the interest of their customers, they also look out for themselves.

Are amusement park rides safe? It amazes me more children aren't killed on these dangerous rides. I think the rides are dangerous from the stand point of the ride itself, as well as, improper maintenance and inspection of these rides. All of the amusement parks are suppose to ensure the public the rides have been inspected and they are safe, but I've seen and heard of many of these park rides that break down on a constant basis. Many of these rides have left children and people hanging upside down for hours on end and this is dangerous. These rides could cause the death of many people at the same time and one day it's going to happen. I believe "we," as parents, should walk with our signs in front of these parks encouraging them to have safer rides for children and adults.

Some of these rides are beyond belief and the shear look at them makes me feel sick. I don't believe anything is safe that flies so fast that it pulls people's glasses off, their false-teeth out of their mouths, pulls their wigs off, makes children and adults lose their shoes, etc., there's "no" one that can tell me these are safe rides. I believe all of these parks should be fined for these fast serious dangerous rides. When "we," as parents, allow our children to ride them, we are subjecting them to death.

Some of the older private amusement owned rides that move up and down the coast setting up their rickety riding equipment in mall parking lots, fair grounds, and opened fields are nothing but a bunch of junk. Most of the rides break down every few minutes and "no" one can tell me these are properly inspected by the states where they are setting them up in before they're opened up to the public. People many of these rides should have been pitched to the junk yard years ago and we are allowing our young children to ride them. It's too late to wish we had never allowed them to ride when they are injured for life or maybe lost to death.

I believe any type of ride for children or adults should be sensible rides and not one's that soar through the air as fast as lighting and it couldn't come to a stop if it had to until the operator stops it. When we get on one of these rides, we are taking our lives into our own hands, once it starts into action we cannot back out. I know there are people who absolutely love these rides, but as for me, I don't want any part of them. I'll stay on the ground and in a location and then I won't have to worry about getting killed.

"NO" amusement park rides are not safe!
