Yes, surveys and other on-line gigs can pay your bills, but there is a significant amount of work that must be put into these things in order to earn a generous amount of money from this type of on-line work.

Many surveys serve the purpose of advertising and take you through an extensive amount of pages filled with invitations to receive information from their advertisers. What I have found is all that this does is fill up my email with loads of junk mail! These types of surveys usually take a large amount of time for a very small amount of payout. I have seen some surveys that take almost an hour and they are only paying 50 cents for the survey. I don't think 50 cents an hour is going to help out very much in paying any bills.

There are legitimate surveys on-line where you can get paid anywhere from a few cents to several dollars per survey. These surveys will not be bombarding you with advertising questions and taking you to all sorts of different websites. They will be pretty straightforward and should tell you the general amount of time you will spend on the survey. Some surveys only take 5-10 minutes, others take up to an hour. A legitimate and well-run survey company will pay you according to the general amount of time it takes, so if you are spending an hour, they will make it worth it.

Other on-line "gigs" such as pay to click websites and publishing websites can also bring in a decent amount of money, but it takes a while to build up enough cash flow to quit your regular job to live solely on these types of income. Like with most jobs, the more time you put into it, the more you will get paid.

Pay to click websites are a dime a dozen, with some being nearly a waste of time and others paying a decent amount for the time spent. I could be wrong, but I do not know of anyone who is living solely off of work from pay to click websites. These websites pay anywhere from a half a cent per click to 5 or 6 cents per click. If you have absolutely nothing to do and are using this as extra income, it may be worth the time spent, but otherwise you are making around 60 cents to $7.20 per hour. This is assuming that you actually get enough ads from your website to click on to work an entire hour. There is opportunity to earn more with these sites by gaining referrals and earning from your referrals, but it is usually a few dollars per month at best.

On-line publishing sites are probably one of the best forms of earning money on-line with minimal training and education. There is a growing number of websites where you can publish articles of different genres and eventually earn a decent income. Again, this takes time and work! The more you write, publish, and promote your articles, the more you will make. Those who are making enough money to pay the bills through this type of on-line work are putting time and effort into it every day. Most people will not see themselves becoming a millionaire by publishing articles, but they may be able to earn enough to eventually use it as their main source of income.

So I say yes, surveys and other on-line gigs may bring in enough money to pay the bills, but one has to be willing to put in many hours and hard work in order for this to be true.

Can surveys and other online gigs pay your bills?

Yoiu see advertisements all over the internet and testimonials about making thousands of dollars from surveys and other online opportunities. I have been out of work since April of 2008. I have Osteo Arthritis in my back, shoulders and neck. This has caused my migraines to get worse. I had an acute stroke from the migraines, but the Government decided I am not disabled. So I started looking for work from home. First I tried the survey route. I signed up for all of these sites that said they paid, some of them 5 to 10 dollars per survey, others lower and others higher. As I went through survey after survey, I would always get to the end and there would be all of these offers. I spent hours alone clicking the "no" box on these offers, because, after all, I was not there to spend money but to try and make money.

Unfortunately they take you to page after page after page of these offers. After you get past all of the basic offers, you get to the silver offers. After the Silver offers there are the Gold offers. After the Gold offers there are the Platinum offers. If by the time you get to the last page where the platinum offers are, and you haven't taken any offers, you get a message saying "you must pick at least 2 platinum offers to continue and get paid for your survey."

And please don't ever just close out the page, if you don't click no on each item, there are several that end up coming to you anyway. I had some that billed my cell phone, all because I didn't click no, and I had to argue with them to take the chrges off. I've had magazines show up in the mail with abill. If that isn't aggravating enough, you find out that the survey is only woth 2.00 and they don't pay until you have 50.00 in your account. So you have just spent 3 hours trying to go through all of this junk, only to find out you haven't even made the 2.00.

Now other surveys go on this way, but will let you refuse all offers. But if you go to your account page, you will see that the money you thought you earned is always pending approval from the company that wanted the survey completed. What that comes down to, is if you didn't take any of their offers, they will leave it sitting there for 3 months and then kick it back and say you didn't qualify.

I tried another one where you read e-mails. I would get bombarded with 20 - 30 advertisement e-mails a day. I read them, and then I would close them out instead of taking any offers. When I went to may account, I found I was only getting paid .02 per e-mail and they didn't pay until you had at least 25.00 in your account.

Once more I went searching and this time I tried something involving clik-bank. Here was another bogus work at home plan. You had to pick what company's products you wanted to promote, then you had to create a clik-bank account, and then you had to submit advertisements to a bunch of search engines and wait until someone clicked on your particular advertisement and bought something. You were supposed to do this every day. It took hours again and I never saw a dime from it.

I kept looking. I filled out a form that said they would help you find a job. A young lady called me, and I explained up front that I didn't want phone work of any kind. she said there would be minimal phone work. I find out as time rolls by, that I am spending all kinds of time on the phone. First I have these 7 websites they give me, and I send them out on search engines, and then I go to resume boards and contact people there with my websites. When they fill out the form, I have to call them and set up a time for them to go into an overview of the company, then I have to call them before the overview to get them into the conference room. Then I have to call them after the overview to see if they are interested. If they are then I have to call them back in a couple of days to set them up with the company. And then from there I have to call them when they need help, if they are not ready to be on the phone, I have to call their leads for them, set them up for an overview and the whole cylce starts again.

Also ont his one, which by the way was advertised as Workathomemoms.com, team2succeed.com, and ucanworkathome.com, promoting the company of Melaleuca, you had to have a membership with Melalueca that costs 29.00 up front for a year, and you had to place an order each month worth at least 35 points which usually came to 60.00 or 70.00 by the time they were done with taxes and shipping. Over three months of trying to work with this I received ad check for 5.32.

The only thing I have found that has made any kind of money, is writing articles. I have one spot where I do 9 articles a day at 5.00 per article. If they get them edited in a quick manner, you can make around 200.00 a week, however I had to spend 200.00 first and buy a website and build my articles up from 2 a day every to weeks. I like the website and I write on it twice a week. I am able to share some valuable information with people on healthy eating and nutrition. The website is supposed to bring you in some money by people clicking on Google advertisements. I haven't made a dime on it, but I have made my money back by writing articles for them.

There are a ton of survey offers and work at home offers, and for the most part they are sales or marketing and they cost you money to even start, and if you make any money from them it usually takes a long time and is very little in the bank.

You are better off writing and posting a resume. I use Kijiji and Craig's List and post my resume every 30 days. It is free. I have had a few good responses for article writing. Usually they are short assignments, but they do help put some extra money in the bank. Probably the best way to make any money working from home is to have your own website, where you sell something that everyone wants, but it takes money and time to set up.
