With things the way they are today most everyone is looking for another income stream. Some have lost their jobs or had their incomes downgraded or simply want to add some extra cash to their current earnings. As the internet booms many of us have turned to it looking for ways to make money online. Type in a search for money making opportunities and you'll surely encounter tons of advertisements that tout surveys and other online gigs, but can you really make a living or even enough to pay your bills. The answer is both yes and no.

While some will tell you that it's quite easy to make money online answering surveys, it is just not all true. Who hasn't gotten caught up in the fervor of making an easy quick stash of cash? Not wanting to be left behind, many have spent money on the purchase of packages that purport that they can show you how to make money completing these surveys.

However, the money in this kind of online job seems to lie in the advertisement and sales of these programs. Having been involved as a customer of several of these programs I have never personally experienced any success of these "answer a survey and get paid" programs. Therefore, it is only fair to conclude that you can make money, not by doing the surveys but by becoming a marketer/affiliate selling them.

Other online gigs can also provide you with a substantial income with which your bills can be paid. However, don't be fooled into thinking that it will be easy. Due to the vastness of the internet making money can be difficult. Most money making ventures hinge on just how much traffic you can get to your website or to click on your ad or your article.

Finding the correct gig online is only a small part of what can seem like an upward hill battle to making money. When you've found where you would like to focus your efforts you'll find that you must also become a marketer. In many circumstances you'll sometimes need to make a monetary investment to get the traffic that will possibly make you succeed in making a profit.

Therefore, with some research you'll find that there are many possibilities for making money online. Some of these opportunities such as freelance gigs where you work on other people's projects for an agreed upon price can be fairly lucrative. Nevertheless, as with many other jobs on the internet, it may be hard to break into the field of freelancing.

The lesson when considering doing gigs online to pay your bill is three pronged. First, one must do due diligence to find something of interest and to find out what kind of work will be required for success. Second, you must market, market, market. Third, be persistent and know that using an online gig to pay bills will take patience and hard work. Yet, with all this you may have to try many things before you are successful at making any money.

To start with my own experience I can say that its almost next to impossible to pay your bills with surveys or other on line gigs like paid to click , paid to post etc. I never believe in these sites because almost 2 to 3 years ago i joined a few on line survey sites that promised to pay around $2 to 30$ for completing a single survey and were free to sign up.

I trusted them and signed in and the wait for a single survey use to be around 1 month or even more . All the more I could not even qualify the survey as the response always use to be that you are unqualified or the set target number of customers have participated in the survey. I ended up earning just a few dollars and it very difficult to reach that payout.

I later thought that i must register myself into some sites that asked for some registration fees and I paid some money to earn and did data entry at home but when i requested my payment i received a reply that i have breached the rules and hence will not receive my cash. I was actually ripped off and i never heard from them again.

Finally now i hardly trust on line means of earning because they never do what they claim to. I take a lot of time to review the sites that i want to join and make sure that i get paid. Even though some sites are legitimate and a large number of people make money on line but it takes a lot of time to do so or else you definitely need to wait for ages to reach the payout and still cant be sure that you will get paid by them.

The most common ways of making money are:

1.On line surveys : there are a large number of sites that do pay but the average rate of surveys every month is 2 or 3 out of which you can only complete 1 and that payment is about 2$ or maybe even less. It takes a very long time to reach the payout all the more not enough to meet your expenses.

2.Paid to click- these sites pay around 0.1 to 0.5 cents for clicking ads and there payout is usually about 10 to 25$ and to reach that it takes 5 to 6 months which in of no use at all.

3. Paid to write : thats a good way of making good money but you need to have plenty of time as well as good writing skills.

4.Paid to review: some sites pay to write reviews but the pay rate is very low.

Even though you can make money on line but the amount that you earn not good enough to pay your bills on a monthly basis.
