In a society where gamers are looking for fast paced action and new arrivals it can sometimes be hard to define what it is that makes a game system great. However, once the facts are laid out on the table it is not difficult to compare which of a few choices is the better of the options. The comparison at hand is the Playstation 3 and the Microsoft X-Box 360, a comparison which many stand firmly on one side or the other but few have actually looked at the facts.
The X-Box 360 currently has an outstanding amount of 3rd Party developer content by comparison to the Playstation 3. Many of the developers for the games which were to only exist on the Playstation 3 had a change of heart and began developing for both systems and some jumped ship all-together. Most of these organizations have stated that development for the Playstation 3 has been made difficult due to the Playstation's exceedingly high standards. It is already the popular opinion of most who favor a Playstation 3 that it has the superior graphics capabilities and it is already known that the hardware and the delivery device, Sony's Proprietary Blue Ray Disk, is capable of out performing the X-Box 360's DVD9. However, these standards have simply made far too many challenges for developers and have even killed many of the potential titles which could have made the PS3 a solid competitor in the field of 3rd Party content.
In addition to a lack of 3rd Party content, the Playstation 3 fights with its online services. When the X-Box 360 launched, gamers everywhere had trouble denying that the innovative service allowed almost any user with a high speed internet connection access to a wealth of content and services which had never been achieved before. As of right now the Playstation 3's online services are still in development and making very slow and cautious releases.
Most importantly however is the fact that gaming is a fierce and competitive sport by nature and the Playstation 3 offers a much smaller amount of titles which support the desires and potential of gamers to gather together, whether it be in a location or over the internet, and enjoy the competition and excitement of participating in gaming with other gamers.
In essence, though the physical capabilities of the X-Box 360 can be seen as lower, it becomes clear that in terms of a system which has attempt to support the art of gaming and the introduction of new and innovative titles, the X-Box 360 is the gaming system to choose on the basis that it is a GAMING system. Though the graphical and communicative capabilities exist, these mean nothing without the tools and the simplicity to turn it on and have a good time and are what solidify the X-Box 360's edge over the Playstation 3.

The XBox breaks so often, it's really just one game: "The Red Ring of Death." Instead of playing, you're staring at the red light indicating a "general hardware failure,"and while PlayStation owners are enjoying themselves you're trying to get your XBox repaired. That's one of the three biggest reasons the XBox 360 is worse than the PlayStation 3.
1. They're Defective
When Microsoft released the XBox 360, they acknowledged that at least 3% of them were defective. Everyone complained the failure was rate was higher, and Microsoft finally admitted it - it's really 5% of all XBox 360's that have to be returned. But the real number of failures could be a lot higher. Nearly everyone has seen the tell-tale sign - the three red lights around the power button forming a "ring of death." When 360 Gamer conducted an online survey, over 4,469 XBox owners responded, with a whopping 62.5% reporting a defective XBox. (And over 22% reported that more than one XBox console had failed on them!)
But even when Microsoft replaces your defective XBox, guess what? They'll give you the worst possible replacement unit, usually somebody ELSE'S s defective XBox that was quickly slapped back together. So that'll break too. Some people report that they've had to return their XBox's over and over again. (One user was on his eighth XBox!)
The European government even launched an investigation into Microsoft because the XBox 360 had too high a failure rate. But if you want to buy a game console that won't actually play any games - go ahead.
2. They're Old
If you want to play games with a technology from 2005, then the XBox is for you. Buying an XBox means gaming with outdated graphics, the worst of any console on the market. The PS3's newer Blu-Ray technology is cutting eduge, giving much better detail.
Everyone in the industry acknowledges that Microsoft's XBox 360 technology is older, clunky, and not as sophisticated. XBox lovers tries to spin that into positive, by saying "This is bad, old, technology - so it's cheaper!" But that's really an acknowledgement that the PlayStation 3 is better.
3. XBox Games are Awful
There may be one or two games worth playing on the XBox 360 - but everything else is a retread of some multi-platform game.
If you buy an XBox, you'll always be haunted by the feeling that even the game you're playing would've been more fun on the PlayStation 3!
