Marriage is a sacred aspect of life that was supposed to last for the tenure of the lifetime of the two parties. But since it was not designed by the creator that both spouses should die at the same time, one would die, and leave the widow or widower to follow thereafter, as it is a sure bet that we all have to die someday. Somehow, love and relationship go sour, after many a close and pleasant moments. But that is the true aspect of life. It now takes the wisdom and tenacity of the couple, or the wisest of the two to patch up with the difficult and rough times to keep and maintain the sanctity of the home, the relationship, and the unity of the family. After all, Grand Pa Adam did not put Grand Ma Eve away after the great loss of Paradise.

Where the two, or one forbearing party, failed to show understanding and perseverance, the marriage, as they say, would hit the rocks, and each party would go his or her way by the path of divorce. Where the two agreed to divorce, it is right and noble that the two parties maintain respect and dignified role for themselves and the ex-spouse while they continue with their lives within the larger society. This is the ideal and required standard for the sanctity of their new separate lives, and equally for the protection of their children, if any.

The attitude and intentions of the former wife of leading GOP Presidential candidate, Newt Gingrich, is unbecoming of a woman of good virtue and honor. For whatever reason, the timing was wrong, while the approach was ill-advised. There are some steps in this life that we rather have to approach with good judgment, tact and decorum. Should we follow that path, we would always come out of every situation justified and vindicated, much more honorable and very well respected than when we first approached the issue.

Without making effort to address the perennial issues between the two parties, and while striving to remain painstakingly non-partisan in the general matters, one needs to put it to former Mrs. Gingrich and the television station that they would not be the sole electorate that would determine the outcome of the 2012 American Presidential elections. Mr. Gingrich could have been guilty of some past insensible flirtatious misdemeanors or some other well-known failures of man, for which he was supposed to have suffered and demonstrated some kind of remorse and penitence, either in private or in public. As matured individuals, both parties were supposed to have imbibed the age-old lesson of allowing bye-gones to be bye-gone, while leaving their separate lives in pursuit of the elusive better relationship.

But to play to the gallery in search of pity or public support on the eve of a vital primary election, speak volumes of a badly scripted hatchet job to pull down the former husband from a high pedestal of public opinion and looming judgment. A more virtuous woman would have chosen either to remain silent, as silence is golden, or choose a better time, to unleash the venoms and the tirades.

Playing to the hands of the opponent at this crucial point in time portend of a very great danger for the nation and the principles we uphold. The public should be able to understand the difference between the unfortunate case of Mr. Cain and matter on hand. The accusers of Mr. Cain were prompt and quick, saving the public a lot of pain and strain. Madam was, in this case, slow and seemingly scheming a vendetta. Since the primary election is about choosing the best contender within the ranks of the GOP that would slug it out with the candidate of the Democratic party, The Lord would allow the best contender to emerge. Even though the best contender could be a sinner or unclean person, The Blood is still flowing on Calvary, to wash clean the unrighteous, even whiter than snow.

In the course of the deliverance of Lot from the great destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Madam Lot was warned not to look back. She did, and she failed to make it to the place of refuge. Most women, and even men, who had been jilted, maltreated, or disappointed by former spouses should look forward to a better life, and remember a former first lady, and the wife of a former IMF president, how close they stood with their respective husbands, despite the odds. They earn much more of people’s respect and honor, than going the tell-tale path of ABC.

As for the media house, leadership is more of good judgment and nobility. Good journalism is often praised and respected for breaking news and getting the public informed of vital news and information that are of immense benefit to the public. While the general issue of divorce between Mr. Gingrich and his former wife was public knowledge to some extent, bringing the former wife on air for some rather new innuendos within an old issue on a big day for Mr. Gingrich sounds scandalous to me. It made the media house look being used to pull down the candidate at all cost. While it may not be illegal, it further proved the strength of the American system. The people have spoken, despite the mighty power of the press.
