The easiest answer to this is to hire a professional to tackle this job.  It would be no hassle, quick, and requires no work from you, but it can also be very costly.  Why hire someone when you can do it yourself?  Today it is all about saving money, and cutting costs due to the economy.  Installing carpet might sound like a huge job but it is rather easy to do.  The only cost you incur is purchasing the carpet, and you really need to shop around to find your best deal.   The money you save on hiring an outside carpet installer could be put into a family vacation, or go out and buy something for yourself that you would never even consider because of the cost.  Believe me after the work you put into your carpet you deserve a reward.

In this day and age with the internet, even a novice can tackle and conquer this job.  Laying carpet is not rocket science.  I think people have grown lazy, and would rather hire people to do jobs they can very easily do themselves.  I have used the internet to figure out how to fix my washer, garbage disposal, and even the heating system in my car.  There are step by step directions, with pictures and video. on how to tackle any home improvement task it just takes a little dedication, and hard work.  Everything you need is at your disposal all you have to do is find the strength and patience within yourself.

You can actually get great satisfaction from conquering a task, even a menial task like laying carpet, that you would have never thought possible.  I get a sense of confidence when I learn to do knew things, and I actually have learned to enjoy putting the work into my home.  We need to get back to a time when people got satisfaction from a hard days work, and they put work into their home.  Before you pick up the phone to hire someone at least give it a try.  People are always looking to try something new so why not this.  If you can jump out of an airplane, you can lay carpet.   I say it is high time for us to start getting our hands dirty!

The question of whether you should install your own carpet or employ professionals has an obvious answer. It makes much more sense to me to hire a professional who can guarantee you a good job.

When you are doing your carpeting job yourself, you have many considerations to think about such as sourcing the materials, learning how to actually install the carpet and how you need to use. In addition to all of the time spent researching, the physical job of installing a carpet can also be quite grueling.

As a pro from a doityourself.com mentioned about installing carpet, "It can be hard on both your knees and your back, and if you don't get it right, everybody can see where you messed up." These are very strong reasons to not install carpet on your own. However, if you need more justification, there are several other reasons which have been listed below.

Not an efficient use of time

The time you spend researching how to install your carpet properly and learning how to apply it will take you much more time and effort then it would for an actual professional in the field. As such, why not let someone do the job more efficiently and correctly if you can.

If you under no circumstances can afford someone to do this job for you, then of course it makes sense to do it on your own but otherwise, it seems more efficient to leave the job to a professional.

It isn't too expensive

There are many carpet companies in the market offering competitive rates, making it not cost prohibitive at all to have a pro install your carpet for you. Be sure when selecting a company to find one which has received positive reviews and whose prices are fair relative to the competitors in your area.

Websites like angieslist.com can also provide good feedback. Using review sites like Angie's List will help you save time and money and make the experience of getting your carpet done much simpler.

As you can see, using a pro is a good idea when you are looking to do carpeting for your home. If you appreciate how difficult and physically tolling it can be to actually do your own carpeting, you will realize how much more sense it makes to just hire someone to do the job. Hopefully this advice will help you in making your carpeting decision!
