The one thing that has amazed me about the mind-set of capitalism is that everyone can win. There are some things in nature that are so evident and; in so far as we know from a scientific perspective, these things do not change. Being that they do not change man has come to call them “laws”. One of these so-called “laws” is The Law of Conservation, which states energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Everything is fundamentally energy, even matter. What happens in accord to this law is exchange…only. Exchange testifies to “an eye for an eye” principle. Or perhaps better stated under its known law of motion; the 2nd to be more specific, equal and opposite effects.
In economics there is this thing called supply and demand, which is called a law. But this law merely functions in the manner of Conservation and the laws of motion. An overly simplified example of this is: the supply goes up the demand goes down. When the demand goes down the cost of goods sold is adjusted accordingly. When the price goes down, people buy more and so the supply goes down again and the demand goes up and the whole process repeats itself, over and over. It can only repeat itself, and it can only work in this manner; which is circular, because this is the law of nature. Circularity is a consequence of equal and opposite effects and equal and opposite effects is a consequence of Conservation.
This whole “system” merely states that something comes from something and that something is always like the something to which it came. All this system can and does do is exchange X from here to there back to here. An observational metaphor that perfectly and simply represents this process is a see saw. It goes back and forth; as in equal and opposite effects, and it is conserved. That is to say; just to the extent one side goes up, the other side goes down, always in itself remaining balanced. Whatever degree one side is at, the other side equally offsets it, whereby the two sides added together always remain the same one number, let’s say 100%. So, if the see saw is tipped 25% on one side, the other side is at 75%. We may observe an imbalance, but one does not actually exist. The ability for the exchange between the two sides rests in the fact that Conservation is always conserved. So when the exchange between the two sides is ongoing back and forth, it is something from something and remains as this something.
But man has lost perspective. As a result, he has displaced his ability to see clearly the process within the system; that it always remains at 100%, and has placed a value on one side or the other. This is behind the idea that capitalism can be a win/win situation. It is quite absurd, as it is impossible. It is like saying “we can ride the see saw always at the same degree.” It won’t work. If there are rich, there will be poor. First, if all were rich or poor, the words rich or poor would be meaningless. The rich sit high on the see saw and in order for one side to go up the other must go down. The richer the rich get, the poorer the poor get. Where do the rich get their ability to go up? Is it possible they go up without the other side going down? Absolutely not! What happens when the other side is down and out? Either the rich give something back to the poor; or “up” gives to “down” a degree of breathing room, or the game is over… which could be called entropy.
If we are to be wise and honestly see how this system works the answer to the title question is obvious and it shouldn’t even be asked. But the question is being asked, which testifies to the fact that; as the laws pertain to the game, man is unwise. It’s only the rich that are making a huge fuss over it, because they are blinded by their richness. They believe the opportunity exists for anyone to get rich like them. Surely anyone can, but someone will always lose. And the politicians want to make them happy so they can get paid. The poor are merely pawns in this game and the politicians merely their puppets. Yet, if eyes do not open soon, the poor will perhaps be out of this game, but the see saw will start all over again amongst the rich who remain in the game. As the process unfolds, it merely repeats itself, ever inching out more and more players, until alas a full-fledged oligarchy has formed and tyranny will become the rule of law.
A win/win situation can only occur when the see saw is at 50/50. This isn’t seen as practical. On the contrary, it is said to be stagnant. But wouldn’t a circularity; that continually repeats itself, actually be what is stagnant? Of course it would. Yet, this isn’t seen because; even though they are just repeating the process, they are distracted by the doing-ness inferred in motion/work/change. All change is merely exchange, and exchange nets zero change. To believe otherwise is known as deception. And as deception’s sole purpose is to deceive, in so doing the deceived cannot see their insanity.
So I say yes! Tax them right off their high horse and add to this; until the see saw is more realistically balanced, let there be no tax for those who earn minimum wage or for those collecting unemployment.
After all, when you work, you are in essence only exchanging your labor for money. This isn’t exactly income. Income more accurately defined is profit, something made above and beyond the equal exchange rate. For example: interest earned, or profit made above cost of goods sold. Corporations can deduct their costs from their assets, to reduce their “income”. Lottery winners can deduct their losses, from their winnings, to reduce their “income”. Yet, the working man takes the brunt of most of the expenses in this country and he doesn’t actually have an income. His cost of living is usually pretty equal to his earnings, as most live paycheck to paycheck just to survive this mad game we are forced to play in. Stop the insanity and don’t take for granted the propaganda being fed in our education system, which teaches us that it is good to be a slave for the system.
We the people are losing our voice and our power. Remember the politicians work for us. If we did not do our job at work, we would not get paid. Freeze government salaries until they do their job. We are also sold the line that we should take pride working for the man, be grateful to have job, and respect those in high positions. Why? If you the working man was not there working, they the corporate world would not have a corporation.
Also, we don’t “need” 99% of the garbage mankind buys into. All these material gains sold to us as a tool to make our lives easier and simpler IS what makes it more complicated and IS killing us. We work to get and maintain this stuff and aren’t even home long enough to enjoy what it promises to provide. By the time we might have a chance to enjoy something, when we go to use it, it doesn’t work, the warranty has run out, and we’re still paying for it on a credit card. The rich will do anything to stay rich and they do it at the poor man’s expense, selling BS as truth, trying to make us feel guilty for not playing fairly, whining too much, or being slothful… if they can do it so can we, there is no excuse. Hogwash! Realize this: if something doesn’t come from nothing, then their richness is the cause and effect of poorness – don’t let them tell you otherwise!
Of course no one will listen to a word I have to say. On the contrary, it will be mocked as some foolish babble, by one who dons many letters after his name and is hoarding a big fat bank account. Should someone earning $20,000.00 a year pay the same tax rate as someone making $1 million a year? Sounds a bit unbalanced! Money is considered personal property… when paying sales tax, or property tax, or excise tax, or ad valorem tax… this tax is assessed on the fair market value of the property. What makes money different? It’s because those who have it made the laws in the first place. In the early days of America you couldn’t even vote unless you had property. Who do you suppose made that rule? Of course it was the ones with property.
We are taught to believe you are nobody unless and until you have fame and fortune. But on the flipside they preach “all men are created equal”. This is a serious contradiction. If we are equal then we are equal regardless of our material possessions – education, money, or social status does not change the fact that ALL men are created equal. Capitalism is just a guise to cover up the fact that the working class is the rich man’s slaves. The scale is tipped so far off balance now it has passed the point of correction. The poverty level is so out of control, that the poor man has nothing left to give but his blood and given the chance the rich will take it. But as the saying goes: “a dog never bites the hand that feeds it”… the rich can’t even compare to the level of intelligence the dog has. As they cry out its unfair, they obviously haven’t clue they have sucked their river dry.
The poor have nothing left to give. It’s time for change!

I am telling you this now...I do not make over one million dollars per year. I don't even come close. Earning that kind of money in the course of a year is as far fetched to me as Russel Brand's sense of humor. Even though this concept is completely inconceivable to me, I can tell you right now with the utmost confidence...The rich and jet-set should not pay higher taxes.
People who are rich have got their money one of two ways. They inherited it or they started from nothing, and through business decisions, the stock market, and playing golf...they have earned it. They have worked very hard to get where they are. Who are weto tell them that they now, just because they have a summer home in Monaco, have to pay more taxes? "Well...what about the people who were born into their money? They didn't earn it! They should pay higher taxes!" you might say. The truth is....the families of those fortunate few worked very hard to establish their family's dynasty. The Rocafellers, Vandetbelts, Morgans, Carnagies, Gateses, Jobs, Jordans...the list or wealthy families goes on and on...the one thing that all of these families have in common...they started or were part of massive corporations and business interests. These corporations employ (or have employed) massive amounts of people like you...and me.
The rich are the source of capitalism. They are the ones who start businesses and fund innovation. The more capital they have at their disposal...the more ventures and start ups they can fund. The more they can invest into business...the more people (like you and I) they can employ. The more people they can employ...the more taxes the government can collect. The more taxes the government can collect...the better equiped it is to help us when we are in need...or when the businesses are in need. And to me that seems right.
Am I saying that they should pay zero taxes? Of course not. Everyone must pay taxes in some form...it is how we as a nation survive and are able to help the people that need it. Did you know that because of their high tax rates in income in Great Britain, there are more rich Britons living outside of the U.K. than are living in it? I,for one, would like our rich citizens living here, in this country, so that they can help and employ their fellow Americans...like me.
