According to the Bible, heaven does exist. According to the Bible there are 3 heavens. II Corinthians 12:2, written by the Apostle Paul informs us that he was caught up in vision into the third heaven. When we speak of heaven, we refer to the first heaven as the visible heaven nearest to planet earth. That heaven is where we see the clouds, and where the birds fly. The weathermen observe this heaven in order to predict upcoming atmospheric conditions. Then we refer to the heavens where the sun, moon and stars are. (Genesis 1:14-18) We observe these heavens more closely with gigantic telescopes. On a crisp, clear night we can see the constellations in place. We can see the moon's splendor as the stars dazzle in brilliance. In the daytime we bask in the sunbeams emitted from the sun itself. Then there is the third heaven where God dwells. This heaven is real. When the Apostle Paul was caught up into it, he was stricken with awe. He called it paradise. (II Corinthians 12:4) This is the heaven to which Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the Living God ascended after the resurrection. (Acts 1:10,11).
Stephen, one of the first deacons, a man full of faith goes on record as saying, "Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God." (Acts 7:56). The Book of Revelation discloses more information about heaven. The Apostle John declared, "And after that I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened: And the seven angles came out of the temple , having the seven last plagues...." (Revelation 15:5,6) The Book of Revelation is prophetical, and John beheld in vision all of the scenes given to him by God. Chapter 4 of Revelation gives an eyeopening view of heaven and the throne of God. Revelation 12:7-9 speaks about the war that was waged in heaven between Christ and the Satan. Satan was cast out of heaven along with his angels. Throughout the Book of Revelation John beheld angels coming from heaven executing the will of God. Finally John described the new heaven which God has prepared. It is glorious. He saw the New Jerusalem with 12 gates, each gate made of pearls. He saw the streets made of gold, and the walls of jasper stone. He saw the throne of God and the river of life, as well as the tree of life. He saw the fruit that the tree of life has. The leaves of that tree are good for the healing of the nations. (Revelation, Chapters 21 and 22).
Yes, heaven does exist. Yes, it is real. Those who believe and accept the teachings of the Holy Bible know that heaven is promised to those who accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come, And let him that hears come. And let him that is thirsty come, And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." Blessed, (or happy) are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." (Revelation 22:17, 14). "Surely, I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus. He will come to take us to be with Him. (John 14:1-3)
" Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool..." (Isaiah 66:1) Believe it! Receive it! Be Ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ to take us to that heavenly home where we shall dwell with him forevermore!

Is There a Heaven?
According to Fox News polls of 85 percent of people believe in Heaven, and 92 percent say they believe in God. Wikipedia states that in many religions Heaven is a physical or transcendental place where people who have died continue to exist in an afterlife. Heaven is often described as the holiest place, accessible by people of divinity, goodness, piety, faith or other values. However, is there a Heaven?
Steven Hawking states that the Heaven of an afterlife that awaits us is a “fairy story” for people afraid of death. Hawking regards the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail. In addition, Hawking rejected the notion of life beyond death and emphasized the need to fulfill our potential on Earth by making good use of our lives. In answer to the questions of how we should live Hawking says: “we should seek the greatest value of our action.” Quantum fluctuations in the early universe became the seeds from which galaxies, stars and ultimately human life emerged.
New images state that the evidence of an afterlife is a product of the brain. Neuroscientist Michael Persinger, in his laboratory at Laurentian University, Canada can induce all of these experiences in subjects, by subjecting their temporal lobes to patterns of magnetic fields. Apparently this experiment creates a mild out-of-body experience, or experiences of trips to Heaven. The Swiss neuroscientist Olaf Blanke discovered that they could bring about an out-of-body experience through electrical stimulation of the right angular gyrus in the temporal lobe.
Psychologist and paranormal researcher Susan Blackmore states that the visual cortex on the back of the brain is where information from the retina is processed. Lack of oxygen to the brain (which can occur near death) can interfere with the normal rate of firing nerve cells in the area. When this occurs, “stripes” or neuronal activity move across the visual cortex, which is interpreted by the brain as concentric rings or spirals. These spirals may be seen as a tunnel. Also the experience of visualizing things from above, as in out-of-body experiences is actually just a normal extension of a process called “decentering”-picturing yourself from above looking down.
Pim Van Lommel states that some theories result by physiological changes in the brain such as brain cells dying are a result of cerebral anoxia, and possibly created by the release of endorphins, or NMDA blockade. Lommel goes on to say that neurophysiological processes play a role in near death experiences, or trips to Heaven. These can be introduced by electrical stimulation of some parts of the cortex resulting in high carbon dioxide levels in the brain. This decreased cerebral perfusion results in local cerebral hypoxia that can induce out-of-body experiences. The loss of cortical function precedes the rapid loss of brainstem activity and these experiences arise during the loss of, or on regaining consciousness. The transition from consciousness to unconsciousness is rapid, showing brain activity to change within a few seconds who appear to the subject as an out-of-body experience or a trip to Heaven where one interacts with loved ones.
Deepak Chopra states that of the six billion people living today that in death not one person has returned to confirm for us beyond a reasonable doubt that there is life after death.
Eventually the grand mystery of consciousness and Heaven will be solved by the penetrating tools of science.
