College is definitely not for everyone. From my personal experience, I was excited to join Marshall University in 2005, and right away I felt uncomfortable with teacher's cursing and clearly expressing they were only there for a check, and didn't care if we passed or not. I give you some examples of why college is not for everyone.

1) Sitting in a two hour class can be quite boring, especially your first year when your taking basic classes that your not interested in.

2) You come across teachers who you can't understand,or they go to fast for you to keep up.

3) Overcrowded classes

4) Can be expensive with books and other expenses. Most colleges keep your first financial aid check for 30 days, so you have to spend a minimum of $300 for your books out of pocket.

5) Financial aid after 2 or 4 years can build up, and if you even land a job in an economy that will be down for many more years, you will have to spend years paying it back.

6) If you have a student loan, and it goes in default, they will take every bit of your tax refund until it is paid off.

7) Most students change their minds about what major they should go with, so after all is said and done, they might have a degree that will never be used.

8) You will always meet someone in college, even if your quiet and shy, so you may end up with someone who helps you, or someone who will lead you off course in your studies.

9) The school I went to, I could never get a computer to set at and work, they were often filled up, and some people who were on the computers were playing games or on social networks.

College is valuable for those who are motivated and are willing to spend a lot of time managing their time and money. I would definitely recommend doing on-line schooling, because it's less expensive and convenient, especially if you have children, and you can still be social.

Saying college is for everyone is ridiculous, because not everyone, whether they believe it or not are not psychologists, or social workers, so they don't know what an individual really likes or not. There is a lot of drama, and immaturity in college, just like High school, even though these people are paying to go to school, they still take the time to goof around, and distract you from getting work done in class.

College, just like school in the past, likes to put you on the spot. Teachers like to embarrass you, and sometimes to the point you will want to drop the class. With online classes, you can learn from people online without all the garbage and you can also stay in your pajamas.

Colleges are too expensive and too crowded and when your walking the campus, people can seem quite depressing with their heads down, and talking on their cell phones. College is not for everyone, because truthfully, whether people want to believe it or not, teachers and schools make money whether you graduate or not.
