Is racism on the decline? I would have to answer 'yes'. In America, we must have the most diverse citizens of all other countries in the world. We have every known color to man. We have all come together to make a very unique new ethnicity. We are no longer black, white, brown or olive. We are a completely new race. We are mutts.

There is no reason for anyone to be racist in this day and age. Hitler claimed to be of one pure race, yet he was of mixed blood. There is no such thing as a person with only one blood line running through them. Even the most racist of men during the period of slavery in this country took on African lovers. Do you think they didn't have offspring? How do you think some African Americans are born with blue eyes or blond hair? It's called recessed genes. That is just one example of races joining together. My point being if we are all mixed together, then how can we be racist? We would have to hate ourselves as well.

I see a lot more people embracing friends from another culture lately. For example look at the pop music culture, that is embraced by whites blacks Hispanics all equally. I guess now you couldn't really say it belongs to one nationality or another. We've got white boys that can rap just as well as any other nationality. We have African Americans like Biggie and Tupac who lead the way for those white boys.

We have all different colors working side by side with each other. I have friends of all kinds of nationalities. The first thing we need to do to stop racism, is admit we are different. We're not different because of our skin color, but because of our heritage, our upbringing, our belief systems. Color doesn't make us racist, lack of acceptance does. We have to accept we are different. That is a good thing! If we were all the same there would be nothing new to learn, no different foods to try, no cultural legends to amuse ourselves with. We are different, but in a good way.

Racism is nothing compared to what it used to be. Is it still there? You would have to turn a blind eye to say it's not. I hate no race and my children will be taught the same. God made us all, not just some.

Racism will never truly be on a decline until we as a people allow it to be. We just have less cases of it reported. Everywhere we go in America, you can find at least one group of people that doesn't like another race of people. The racism in today's generation still carries on, in my opinion, because of sometimes family upbringing, where one is raised and the type of challenges in life people are faced with and the answers they receive for why they are struggling. People feel like it is one race's fault that the other race is not succeeding and in some cases people feel like it is another's fault for why certain turn of events happen. I myself believe in taking responsibility for one's actions and creating your own future. However, some people do not.

There are still so many people stuck on the past that they can not move forward. People are to concerned now with where some one else came from that they do not even see the fact that America is filled and mad up with all different types of people and creeds. There are many different religions, many different faces, and many different beliefs.

To prove my point, ask yourself this: after the 9-11 attacks, how many people reading this article saw an Arab and had doubts about them or maybe even started to hate them? Most likely, many, because once it was said who was behind the attacks, everyone freaked out because a lot of us see so many Arabs a day and couldn't pinpoint who was who. I didn't feel that way because a couple of persons actions shouldn't dictate how you think about the rest of the world or the rest of that race.

Another perfect example is this new case that is going on dealing with the man in Cleveland, the "Imperial Avenue" murders. The man, named Anthony Sowell, is being held due to 11 human remains being found in his home. To those who are familiar with the case and for those who are not, the 10th victim has been identified and my heart goes out to all those families suffering right now. After the first break of the story, I ran through countless numbers of forums and some of the comments made were just outrageous. A lot of the comments had to do with his race. He is an African American male. It was stated that his race had played a part in him doing those horrific things. The people who wrote those comments only forgot to mention that all of the women where African American females.

When you look at the gist of it, coming from my part, at least 8 of those African American women were reported missing, some dating back as far as a year. When loved ones went to the police to inquire, they were told, "When the drugs are gone, they will be home". The police force, which is predominately Caucasian, made the assumption that since these women lived in a poverty-filled environment, were in a drug-infested area and that they could not be missing, but simply out partying. If their ethnicity had of been put aside, maybe the lives of at least 5 of those women could have been saved. Even if not when they were alerted to the order of a dead person, not animal but person; if they had of did a more thorough investigation maybe after the first victim he would have been put away.

Now please understand that I am not putting any race before any other. I am not asking you to take my word . I would rather you look it up and make the decisions for yourself. I am just stating the circumstances and why I feel racism still exist and why I feel it has not declined. A lot of races allow the mistakes of a few to dictate how they see the rest of the people from that culture. I feel that maybe if people truly started seeing human beings as human beings and not as that black man, or white man, idiom women, or any color, then maybe racism could possibly slowly fade away. As long as we are still defined and defining each other by our skin, racism is allowed to thrive and live on. We as human beings allow it to do so because of our mouths and actions. We say things around our children that we shouldn't about other races. That is a very terrible practice but also explains how acetic spreads and passes through generations.

That concludes my answer to this debate and my reasons that I say that racism is not on a decline and will not be on a decline until we as human beings allow it to start declining.
