Well, this is something that is around everywhere. No matter where you go in the world, you're going to have to deal with prejudices. The reason a lot of people think that people from other areas in the world don't have prejudices is because that they are the ones that we Americans mostly have prejudices about. Whether you admit it or not, everyone has prejudices about someone or something and it's something that we are unable to help.
The definition for prejudice is as follows:
1 : injury or damage resulting from some judgment or action of another in disregard of one's rights; especially : detriment to one's legal rights or claims
2a (1) : preconceived judgment or opinion (2) : an adverse opinion or leaning formed without just grounds or before sufficient knowledge b : an instance of such judgment or opinion c : an irrational attitude of hostility directed against an individual, a group, a race, or their supposed characteristics
-Webster
Now, even if you don't openly show any prejudices towards anyone, it's there. Just as an example, would you blame a black man, or white man for shooting someone if you had to choose, most likely without knowing any facts about it? Now, I know that by many, the black man would be chosen by most white Americans. I'm not trying to say that everyone is racist, but everyone has uncontrollable feelings towards others for unknown reasons which would cause them to think down upon them.
The main point I'm trying to put out here is that, no matter how hard anyone tries, no matter where you go or do, you will have to deal with prejudices. Many gangs are formed because of such feelings. People are put down, killed, sentenced unfairly by law, and much more just because of the color of their skin, their choices of what sex they want to be with, where they were born, raised, etc. I don't think many people choose to have prejudices towards others, but it's a fact that we all have it for some reason and many of times it's not for a good reason at all.
Blacks, whites, homosexuals, Mexican, etc. are no different than anyone else. Nobody can help what they're born with, what happens to them, the color of their skin, the way they talk, or anything else that most prejudices are about. In my opinion, I think that ever person should be treated equally regardless of what race, group, or some characteristic about them you may not like. Everyone on Earth was created equally and should be treated as such.
