Purchasing shoes is a fun yet calculating thing to do especially if you are a woman. There is no reason not to purchase used shoes but there are some things to be sure of before purchasing. Shoes can be an expensive hobby. This is one of the biggest reasons people buy used shoes.
Some of the things to check before purchasing used shoes are as follows. First check the price. Sometimes the used shoes cost as much as new shoes on sale at Walmart or Payless. If this is the case then why purchase used shoes? Most of the time used shoes will be less expensive. This is one reason to buy them.
A second reason to buy used shoes is if they look good. Are they clean and stylish? Are they exactly what you've been looking for? If your answer is yes to one or more of these questions, buy the shoes. Sometimes people wear shoes once and get rid of them. You can sometimes get almost new shoes for very cheap, especially at thrift stores or yard sales. One person's trash is another person's treasure. Sometimes a person gets shoes as a gift. Maybe the shoes didn't fit right or weren't that person's style. In that case, the shoes get tossed.
One of these reasons may be a good enough reason to buy used shoes, but what if they all apply? If you find shoes that you like, that are comfortable, stylish and cheap then buy them. Some people are afraid of Athlete's Foot and fungus, but you rarely need to worry about this. After you buy the shoes you can wash them. Even if they are clean and look new this is not a bad thing to do. You can put foot powder in them and spray disinfectant in them to ensure the cleanliness.
If other people want to pay more for their shoes because they are new or have a certain brand name, more power to them. You can look just as nice in used shoes as new ones. The only secret is, you'll be saving money. You can end up with five nice, used pairs of shoes instead of one new pair. Some people may be worried about quality or just want to say they have brand new shoes. For those of us who want to look good and are bargain shoppers, buying used shoes is the way to go. In this economy every cent counts. Sometimes you can even find brand named shoes used at a good price. Shop around and see what works for you.

There are a few reasons to not buy used shoes. Shoes in general are fairly inexpensive. Shoes can be purchased readily at different retail stores. Also, shoes are like other "articles" of clothing that a person normally would not share due to sanitary purposes or medical reasons.
Market research suggests shoes typically do not cost much to be manufactured (i.e, as little as $.25 per hour per "sweatshop" worker), however, shoes are retailed for as little as $1.25 to $5,XXX. Sales price may vary due to difference in retail price in various countries as well as the actual shoe size. For example, a pair of flip flops for a toddler can be purchased for in the United States for $1.25. A pair of flip flops for an adult for $2.50. Retail stores (e.g., Payless or Old Navy) retail boots for between $10.00 to $20.00 for an adult with an average adult shoe size. Consider purchasing a pair of used shoes from a consignment shop, thrift store, or "buy back and flip" store. These types of stores offer used shoes for as little as $1.25 to $5,000.
Footwear is readily accessible at one's local grocery shop or designer shoe store. Shoes can also be purchased at a mall or a gas station if one is a fashionista or a person who is in need of a quick pair of shoes. For the person who has limited time or shuns the lively traditional shopping experience or retail stores are limited based on locality can shop online and have shoes mailed /shipped directly at little or not additional cost.
Finally, used shoes carry more than just the "footprints" of the previous wearer. Used shoes can harbor fungus(e.g., "athletes feet") on the interior of the shoe posing a health risk to the person who purchases used footwear. A person who purchases footwear is also paying for used shoe soles and inserts. Used shoe soles may contribute to a person having an accident on pavement or at a work site due to lack of sole grip. Used shoes also may contain worn out inserts that may not be good for walking posture because worn out inserts do not lend to overall stability of a person's leg and knee joint during walking or other physical activities like running.
Ultimately, it is better for a person to buy new shoes. When a person buys new shoes cost the same or even less than to buy used shoes. New shoes can be purchased everywhere from ones local convenience mart to high end retail store. Purchasing new shoes is healthy and sanitary for the purchaser compared to buying used shoes.
