This is what I don't get. Why does certain types of music have to come with certain behaviors?

I mean music is music. It's all an expression of emotions. It all means something different to everyone.

But I'll never, ever believe that drugs must come with a type of music. I like all kinds of music from swing to metal. And I listen to all types depending on my moods. But I don't do drugs cause 'the music told me too'....

For example. I don't take acid when I listen to Jefferson Airplane. I don't smoke weed when I listen to Pink Floyd. I don't do drugs cause I'm not a druggie. Nor do I have a drug problem. And music does NOT make you do drugs.

What. Am I supposed to shoot heroin when I listen to Alice in Chains? No. I listen to music for the music.

Sorry to say this but taking drugs is lack of self control. You chose to do them. You do them cause you want too...

Look. The words 'Rave' have only become bad cause of some idiots who decided to think it was a good idea to take drugs while at a dance club. And I don't want to hear any more lame excuses from junkies trying to tell me
that a rave is trance/techno music and acid... No it's not! A real rave was a dance that wasn't exactly legal. Meaning it wasn't in a legitiment club, nor were there and licenses. The empty building dances people used to throw in the
80's usually had permits and licenses.

Find an abandon building. Get a temp permit. Set up some speakers and lights. Have a dance. Make some money then go home and do it again next week. That's a rave.

But NO! Music is not why people do drugs. They do them cause they want too, think it's cool, or have a drug problem. Music is simply an expression of feeling, thoughts, or ideas. No where does it say on CDs, or records "Suggested use: take a couple shots, smoke an 8th, shoot up, and act like a total retard". I've never seen that on any of my CDs so clearly.

Music can't be about drugs. Yes a lot of it was written on drugs. Especially in the 60's. And dance festivals. If you need drugs to enjoy music, you really don't like it. And to the bands that play - if your listeners have to be on drugs why are they listening to you. You must not be that good... Better pick another career
