Which Gosselin is best utilizing their fame?

THE GOSSELIN FAMILY DEBACLE

The Gosselin family has gone way beyond their 15 minutes limit for fame but Kate is better utilizing her time and improving her image while John has decided to take the quickest route to garnering fans' shock and disgust over what clearly has spiraled into an early midlife crisis of sorts.

I am not a subscriber to all press is good press. Having your name in the news on a daily basis in a negative light takes a toll and overexposes the public, creating a fast track to becoming a social pariah. John has single mindedly chosen this path and does not seem to be veering off its inevitable course.

Kate, although also over exposed, has at least attempted to take the high road and not retaliate with her own vicious barbs on John's character and recent behavior. She seems to have refocused some of her attention back to her children who ultimately need to become the number one priority in both parents' lives as this saga hopefully starts to wind down and lose steam.

Kate's appearances on recent talk shows have catapulted her into what I think is an almost heroic status among divorced single moms across the US today. The bitter words and actions of her soon to be ex-husband and her constant reminders that she is trying to be the better person in this scenario have created an aura of a tough victim who overcomes and begins to bloom and shine on her own in a positive light.

Kate's activities with her kids and her apparent vulnerability on their tv show have further reinforced many peoples' opinions that she has gotten the raw end of this deal and is just trying to raise her family and be mindful of her children's feelings. Oddly enough no one is noticing that she continues to do the show thus putting her entire soap opera life on stage for all of us to watch and judge with no regard to her children's possible need for privacy at this time.

It would seem that John's recent poor choices and negative actions and comments have pushed fans over to Kate's camp. They watch Kate day after day strive to maintain the high road and keep her family running smoothly and she appears to be almost iconic at this time.

This is interesting considering a few short months ago many thought her to be domineering, bossy and overbearing in her not yet failed marriage and John was the helpless victim in the Kate Show who had no real voice of his own. This clearly shows that our perceptions and judgments are constantly changing and fluid. A better attitude today can completely negate a poor image of yesterday.
