It is true that a great amount of people are not prepared for online education, but the reason for this is that this kind of learning requires much more discipline and dedication than these ones are actually able to have. It means that online education may not be applied to anyone, in other words, for each group in an educational path there is a better mix of methodology to use.

Anyway, let's compare. Both online and traditional education needs of investment in order to plan and prepare their stuff, but once this part is over, online education has no other relevant costs, while the traditional one needs of physics structure, a teacher, books, notebooks, transport and other stuff that increases a lot of cost to the educational process. So, in terms of cost, online education is better.

The convenience point could be debatable because online education, as already written, is not indicated for everyone, but the ones who are able to learn with this method can make it anywhere there is a computer with Internet access and anytime, with no need of transport, of a teacher telling what to do every moment or a large dependence of other people, becoming the responsible for his (or her) learning. This is just another topic where, in the end, online education is better.

Otherwise, at traditional education a lot of students that could learn faster than his class will not be able to do it because the class needs to learn all together, or he will do it out of the class. At online education, cause of the little dependence of others to learn, the student is able to do it as faster as he can. For students with learning difficulties this method also helps, because they have the opportunity to learn at their times, with quality and as faster as they can.

At least, it is almost impossible to imagine an actual educational process without using virtual tools or Internet research at this globalized world. It's very common, for example, teachers ask their students to do web researches.

So, considering just the points asked, online education is really much better than the traditional one. But it is worth emphasizing that the both online and traditional methods are needed and indispensable nowadays.

It is needed that educators understand that a lot of people need the traditional way to be able to learn, others don't. For the people who need it, the educators may ensure that they will have the support they need to learn.
