Debates such as this are like doughnuts. Sure, they're extremely tempting to bite into now and again with coffee, but in the end, they provide no real nourishment for the human soul. And while the title of this debate might appeal to basement nerds all across the land, the title also represents the very reason why debates such as this provide no real nourishment.
Right from the start, the title has problems. "Should the UK, France and Brazil force..."
Force? How would these three nations force any other nation to do anything? If they could force any nation to to anything, then why don't they "force" the North Koreans into joining the rest of civilized humanity? Why not "force" the Sudan into court for human rights violations before they go about spending time, energy and money "forcing" another nation to cough up questionable documents and blurry pictures of strange lights and shiny objects in the sky?
Hmmm...One hand feels the weight of starving refugees in Darfur, while the other hand holds dubious images of odd lights dancing in the distant sky. Which is more important? Which issue is "force" worthy?
The UK, France and Brazil couldn't force anyone to do anything, if they even wanted to.
But the troubles don't end there.
Technologically speaking, the United Kingdom, France and the United States all enjoy about the same level of equipment for detecting anomalies around the globe. With that in mind, exactly what would the United States files contain that those other nations might not have?
Think about it for a moment.
Any UFO or extraterrestrials that might visit our planet, would have to travel great distances. Proxima Centauri, the star closest to our earth beyond the sun, hangs in the sky some 4.2 light years away. That means that it would take a spacecraft traveling at the speed of light more than 4 years just to arrive here. And the news gets worse. Proxima Centauri has no planets. The closest star with a planetary system lies 10 light years away.
Any creature making that trip (remember, it's another 10 years just to go home, as well), hasn't dropped in just to say hello, eat some kielbasa, gas up and cruise back on home. After traveling for 10 years, the purpose behind their visit would become abundantly clear to each and every one of us as soon as the aliens appeared.
Of course, humanity can have great fun imagining that visitors from Epsilon Eridani, have come to rescue some people by transporting them back to a Utopian planet through some sort of time/space bending worm hole. But again, such a scenario would make even the simplest soul to wonder, 'Why bother? Why use such technology to visit a planet such as earth? Why not go to another planet with more to offer? Unless...'
Unless the visitors have already tapped into the abundant resources of the other planets in our own solar system and merely visit our little marble from time to time for a little entertainment?
Accepting that possibility, what would France, the United Kingdom and Brazil gain from any documents the United States might have squirreled away? Does anybody really believe that the United States has benefited from some sort of interstellar technology exchange? The Columbia disaster seems to refute that notion rather succinctly.
And why would such visitors visit, say, Santa Fe, New Mexico before going to Paris or London? Oh, and don't forget Rio!
Oh, wait! What if they're visitors from an alternate universe?
Again, if they had any control over their visits to our universe, then their technology would instantly and dramatically change the reality of our planet before our very eyes. It seems more likely that any visitors from alternate universes don't even realize that they've crossed into another universe, much the same way that we have no idea when we've crossed into another universe.
And I think we just have.
Should the United Kingdom, France and Brazil force the release of strongly classified United States UFO/ET documents?
Oh, absolutely!
That show alone would be grand entertainment!

No one government should be forced to release any information about any given subject. It is not for one country to ask or force another to release information, and over the years, it has not appeared that the United Nations has had the power or true authority to assist in getting countries to release information to others. In the sense of releasing strongly classified United States UFO/ET documents, the United States needs at this point to withhold the information as the freedoms of the religious would be compromised, should the information be consistent with visits from extraterrestrials and their related UFOs.
As a Judeo-Christian in the United States, this writer is also a strong believer that we cannot and are not alone in the universe. With so many possibilities of planets similar to earth, how can it be so that we are alone? To those who believe that if there are other alien races, who is to say that they were not created by the same God that formed the earth and the heavens? This writer for a good many years has been very active in the study of ufology and extraterrestrial visits and has many books stacked on his bookshelves to prove this. He also has letters that were written by many, especially members of the clergy/seminary who have written that UFOs and extraterrestrials do exist. They say that they are both angelic and demonic in their respective senses. So, in the case of religion, this is not the time to release documents that might be detrimental to the beliefs of the religious.
The United States most likely has hundreds of thousands of documents relating to the UFO/ET subject and most of them have already been declassified. However, the few that have not been declassified, shall most likely be kept under wraps until the time is right to release them. It might be a good idea to get a consensus of the American public to see if they would be interested in learning the truth about the subject. This writer, for one, is one seeking the truth about a great deal of what the government might be hiding. However, it is not for another country, as mentioned earlier, to force another to release information, unless it is detrimental to the environment as a whole or in the case of Iraq, if weapons of mass destruction existed or not in that country. The United Nations should have the overall authority to have a country commit to providing information that would be consistent with protecting the earthly population.
Should any real information be released to the positive side that ufo's and et's exist in this world, then there is the possibility of a worldwide protest and all out massive demonstrations that could cause more harm than good. This writer believes that the governments of the world should get together, form a world consensus on this issue and then present it all at the United Nations. Let the world react as one and let the world's governments devise a plan to deal with the issue should it be one that is in the positive.
So, at this time, this writer has to say that the United States has to say no to the governments requesting the release of documents dealing with the ufo/et subject and let public opinion continue to decide what really is out there. Is it the truth or is it nothing but another movie in the making continuing to spread a conspiracy?
