President-elect Obama is doing more to prepare for his transition to the White House than any other President-elect since I have been alive. The direction our country is headed calls for some major policy change decisions by Obama and his new Cabinet. I can't think of a better team of leaders being selected to help him make many of the "changes" he has promised the country. It's obvious that Obama is a team player, and that will only benefit Americans as a whole. He has proved that he is willing to reach across the isle to get things done.

He plans on doing several things right away to stimulate the economy, hopefully limiting the length of time of the current recession. He still plans rid the country of the controversial prison known as Guantanamo Bay. This prison only makes us look like hypocrites to both allies and critics of U.S. foreign policy. He also plans to review every single executive order that was signed by President Bush and rescind any that he feels violate the U.S. Constitution.

Obama's initial legislative goals will be to follow through on his pledge to cut taxes for the middle class and raise them for the wealthiest Americans, and to push through a very expensive Bill to provide near-universal health insurance for all Americans. When the economy stabilizes he will be in the perfect position to enact most of his agenda. I must say, It would be quite a disappointment if President-elect Obama was unable to achieve any of his "changes". With both the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate gaining quite a few seats for Democrats while the Republicans lost seats in both houses, Democrats have been able to establish a comfortable majority throughout the legislative branch. If that doesn't greatly benefit Obama's ability to make good on some of his campaign promises, I don't know what will. Senate Democrats now number at 56, which is 4 seats short of filibuster-proof control of the senate. It's not exactly absolute power, but it's pretty close. Democrats now enjoy a 235-199 majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, which pretty much does give them all the power needed to be effective.

Barack Obama ran a very successful campaign that was entirely centered around the idea of "change". Americans had already to become weary and disillusioned about the direction in which our country was going. Obama's unwavering commitment to implement an official and complete scheduled withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq. He plans to inform military leaders of the exact details of this plan immediately after assuming the presidency.

Our great nation has lost thousands of our bravest and most courageous men and women in an unjustified war we should never have started in the first place. Our allies initially offered their own troops and military services to assist us. When innacurate intelligence reports were found, many ally nations removed their troops and support in frustration with the U.S. for it's actions and tarnished image within much of the international community. As the world expresses overwhelming approval of our election and Barack Obama's historical win, we have already gained some of the respect back that we lost at the hand of the Bush Administration's shameful foreign policy.

The debate title of this article is, "Will Obama achieve any of his "changes" in the next four years?" The answer to that question is a no-brainer. "Any" implies that Barack Obama would only need to follow through on one single campaign promise to answer the question with "yes". I truly believe that President-elect Obama will be able to come through for the American people with quite a few of his ideas for "change" being implemented during his first term. This election wasn't exactly very close, and the American people have House and Senate. The Democrats now have pretty solid control of both of them. However, Barack Obama will not be interested in solutions that divide us all down the party lines. He has an awesome opportunity to reach across party lines if necessary to get the important work of this nation done in a timely matter.

When the American people decided to elect Obama, we also decided he was the right guy to promote the interest of all Americans, regardless of color, religion, or partisanship. There will be those who say that Barack Obama can't possibly deliver on most of his "ideas" for change because of the current financial crisis the U.S. is facing. He may indeed have to hold off on or re-prioritize his plans for a more stable economy. Obama has already overcome unbelievable odds by being elected, and I bet he can overcome many other challenges he will soon face as well.

Obama will not bring about about the change America hopes he will even if they stupidly reelect him for another four years. His oration skills are great as long as there is a teleprompter in front of him. When asked a question "off the cuff", he peppers the answers with sophmoric "uhs" and "ums". He has never been clear what change he wants to bring about and talked in riddles much of the time.

For a person who has supposedly an IQ in the 130s he is at best, painful to listen to for any length of time. The fact that he picked a person as chief of staff that sent a dead fish to one of his opponents and is subject to temper tantrums and melt-downs that rival my 2-year-old grand daughters should be a clue as to how Obamas administration will impliment change. He will treat terrorists like recaltracent children and put them in a "time-out" or send them to their own country to think about what they had done. Of course the terrorist world is rejoicing. Perhaps Nanny Jo should be considered for a position on his cabinet. I doubt if she would find any of the president-elects actions "acceptable."

There will most certainly be change in this administration. None of it will be brought about by Mr. Obama though. In fact I believe that if he and America makes it through the next four years it may just change voters minds about the much maligned George W. Bush. He might come out of this travesty looking pretty good. I can't understand how America could elect a Commander In Chief when he has never served in the military. He knows nothing about international politics; saber ratteling or what our young men and women encounter as they try to fight for freedom and the American Way.

As Native Americans would say if they still had a voice "Obama speak with forked toungue". He is as oily and sneaky as a snake. The mans skin color is what got him elected to the highest office in the land. What people fail to see is that he is only 10% black where as Tiger Woods has 50% black heritage. Obama's dad was a mulatto from Kenya while his mom hailed from Hawaii. This man America picked as their leader has never wanted for anything. He attended Ivy League schools and became a lawyer. His mom was a successful banker. How do the American people think this man can relate to our everyday plight? Already his idea of who is rich has come down from $250 thousand to $100,000. Don't they realize that once he is in power that figure will melt to $50,000? He will then have eliminated the entire middle class by declaring them rich and subject them to paying 40% of their income in taxes.

As for health-care and immigration reform we must hope these changes are not implimented. Life as we know it will be non-existent if these do occur. One just needs to look at the poor condition government programs such as Medicare and Veterens Health benifits are in. Do we really want these people dictating what tests the doctor may order or the eventual rationing of health-care dollars? The disabled, the elderly and those with expensive diseases will become targets. Eventually mandatory eutheninasia may become commonplace as scarce healthcare dollars are streached over a burgeoning population. These would be the people that had been "saved" by stem-cell research and have been cured of potentially fatal diseases. One could also expect mandatory testing of all pregnant women and immediate abortions if tests show a suspected malady.

Unless the president elect has help from the nether-world there will be no changes in this administration. He is too inexperienced, prideful and sure of himself to pull it off.
