Are cell phone covers and faceplates fashion accessories or do they really protect phones?

Oh, Yes! The Device that gives everyone almost unlimited access to you at any given time & the government your exact location at any time.
And you want to protect it? Why not! Well while there are literally thousands of different carrying cases & slide on covers for the world famous cellular phone, there is only a few hundred cases that actually get the job done. Most people dont really put tons of thought into this because honestly some of us could care less anyway because its just a replaceable means of communication. But then maybe you are like me & don't really value the ridiculous options & capabilities of the cell phone as much as I care about making sure its going to work for its general life expectancy if not longer, You just want the darn thing to work when you dial a number or wish to answer a call even after a few drops.
No, Im not saying I drop my phone all the time, but no matter how hard you try to care for your cell phone the inevitable is going to happen.
Its going to get dropped sometime somewhere, and without the proper casing or covering it will get a scratch or crack. So Lets start here, Plastic cases in my opinion like the ones with all the glitter and cool designs that you can buy in almost any local mall or gas station. Yeah those are almost worthless depending on the type of phone you carry. You have to consider the weight of your cell phone & how sturdy you phone feels without a case before you even think about buying one. If you have a slider this becomes a lot harder because you are limited on the types of effective cases available if any are available at all. Me myself , I like the candy bar style so I stick with my trusty blackberry phones. If you have a Candy bar style or a flip phone, the most effective case for these styles has to be the leather case. The leather case may not come in all the wacky unique styles that your little $19,tie-die color, glitter covered, plastic slide-on does. It will get the job done with functionality to show for it.
But If you don't like the leather look, You can also try the rubber slide on case that is limited on the phones its available for. Its in many ways just as effective as the leather case but without the standard phone case look. Now for you Slider phone users, There isn't much for me to say to you. So when you aren't texting it up almost everywhere you go, try to keep it in your hip holster your back pack, pocket, or what have you. Because with all the moving parts or one large sliding screen, there isn't any real solution for protecting your $300 to $500 personal computer protected from the asphalt,concrete or tiled floors of the mall or streets you walk on.
Essentially You want a case that promotes functionality and has some kind of give in the right places & doesn't shatter around your phone when you drop it if you can help it. Good luck & happy hunting.

Cell phone cover and faceplate are a specially made wear that is put around phones. People think it for decorating the phone but it is mainly for protection of it.They comes with different brands, sizes, made, colors and texture and styles to suit everyone's tastes. Based on the specifications of your like, you can choose the one that suits your choice as well as the phone.Every cell phone has it's own range of covers. A cover of big cell phone cannot fit cute or pen type phones or others.
Though, not everybody like Cell phone covers and faceplate due to the fact that they think:
1. They tarnish the beauty of the particular brand and style of the the cell phone, although, the main purpose of the phone is to send and receive calls at any place one may be and at any point in time provided the phone has not run out of charge, but the beauty and attractiveness of the phone should be taken into account.
2. It makes phones seems too heavy to carry, which people don't like especially women, where they want small and cute phones, that they can move easily about without giving them any problems.
3. Fitting into pockets and parse posses problems. As they want something can be easily carried about.
But cell phone covers and faceplate comes with some functionality that one cannot denial the fact that it provides some protection which includes the following
I. Screen - The screen of every cell phone a very important component that needs to be protected. It provides protection by blocking dust from entering into the phone's s engine to avoid it from jamming or damaging.
Again without the cover, the constant exposure of the phone's screen the sun and polluted air destroys the key pads normal functionality which an important accessory which needs to be taken care of all the time.
II. Cracks - cell phones are able to resist cracks from happening, the moment it slips from one's hands and falls heavily on the ground whereas if there is no cover or faceplate, it would have been a different case.
Moreover, when a cell phone accidentally falls into water or any liquid form of thing and there is no cover or faceplate, the engine and the memory board stands the chance of getting damage when as it get wets easily, whereas it wouldn't have been so if well protected with a cover or a faceplate.
IV. Faceplate, as the name implies, provides some form of protection to the plate beneath the keypads of the phone.
V. Lastly, the cover protect the batteries of the cell phone form sun burns and heat. The atmosphere at most times, become so hot from the scorching sun.
Now to conclude, Cell phone covers and faceplate gives protection to the screen, keypads, underneath plates t and the engine but not all people like using because they make phones heavy to carry and cannot fit into their pockets and purse.
