A question came up during the Presidential elections that asked "Would a victory for Obama represent a true end to slavery in America ?"

The answer is simple and simply put, it's NO. Slavery has been out of existence for a long, long time so it can't put an end to something that doesn't exist now.

Slavery was the worst kind of treatment of innocent people and still is . We don't have slavery here but it goes on in Africa where children are sold for slaves and forced to work on farms. The suffering continues there and must be stopped .

Unfortunately, those responsible for enslaving past family relatives are now long dead. Any apology and restitution owed was the responsibility of those slaveowners and restitution would have to be given to the slaves at that time - nothing is owed to anyone living in this century.

Black Americans might want to make Obama's Presidency become such a symbol for themselves but I feel that Dr. Martin Luther Kings "I have a dream" would be more appropriate.

Dr. Martin Luther King dreamt that someday a "person of color" would sit as President and his dream has been realized. Black Americans in every city, every town are rejoicing together with all Americans, white, yellow, whatever - we all sing together as one .

Having Barack Obama as our next President is monumental in itself. All American's joined together and as one voice chose and voted this man to be our next President - a man who would have never stood a chance thirty years ago. Black Americans would have never voted for a man of "mixed race" back then. That makes this election even more monumental.

Children of mixed race parent's were labeled by the black communities as "mulatto" and those children were shunned. It was difficult for these children as they belonged neither to the black community nor the white community. Thankfully this discrimination by both black Americans and white Americans has stopped and we have a great young man of mixed race whose compassion and understanding of our needs and hopes will be leading us to better days.

With Barack Obama elected to be our 44th President we can all see that there are no barriers standing in the way of any person, regardless of race , creed or color that can keep them from achieving the goal of being President or anything else for that matter.

"Can anyone do it" ? Yes they can - if they work long and hard enough to attain that goal. Yes they can !

Ironic as it may seem actually electing Obama as President of the United States will be a symbol that black people in this country are no longer considered slaves. It's just that weather someone is actually a slave or owner doesn't really mean they do not have some really evil traits. Just because some guy is not black doesn't mean he isn't really crooked and can be bribed through campaign donation into working just like the crooked company owners desired when they first started supporting the politician.

I guess there is one thing that took place before the Civil War that isn't being brought up any more. Way back then around New Orleans there were actually some black slave holders. They were owning black slaves just like the white folk around them. When any person with some intelligence living now looks back at some thing like that they can easily see that black men can think and act just like the white ones on this continent. The ones who settled North America from Europe and fought to kill ff all the native American Indian residents.

That is just a simple point being made to show that there is no real difference in honesty between either race. Blacks are influenced by evil things just as easily as whites. Since we all can be warped it must be noted that Obama is a politician who has made it to the Senate and there have been numerous cases of Senators and congressmen who have been finally busted for some sort of corruption or sexual idiocy. Since it has been a historic fact that mot Senators and Congressmen try to pass bills that really help the voters from the area they represent it must be noted that Obama was sent to the Senate by voters living in an area that is notorious for the Mafia activities taking place in it.

Yes looking back at some recent history one can see just how people with dishonest backgrounds can be elected President. I'll never forget way back when the first President Bush was running for re-election. I had been favoring his election until the taxes on beer was raised. That was the kind of governmental action that any blue collar working guy could take as being against poor folk giving rich wine drinkers a taxation advantage. That made me look around at the other candidates and was forced to look Closely at Clinton. He at first had my enthusiasm because he had been governor of a state that was more rural than mine. I figured with that kind of background he would never do something like support strict laws like the ones being used in big cities.

There was one other point to push me away from supporting Mr. Clinton. His wife, who had been a lawyer, had gone through a situation pointing to a corrupt bit of action in one case. She made me understand that Mr. Clinton surely wasn't good enough to have my vote. I was pushed into voting for that rich independent candidate from Texas. Even though I thought he probably wouldn't be elected I sure couldn't give up my right to vote and accept who ever was elected without having done any action like some slave in Virginia was forced to accept who ever purchased him as his master.

Now, getting back to this debate it must be said that when Obama is elected he will be just like any free white corrupted President. He will not be held back from acting just like President Clinton and any of the other Democrat Presidents before him. There is only one thing that has not been answered so far. Is President Obama going to treat black and white folk any different than free white presidents have dome before him and is he going to let some murderers out on early parole like Clinton did?

Yes, President Obama will be a real symbol of how slavery has disappeared and he will be able to show everyone just how equal whites and blacks are. It's just unfortunate that this guy will probably make just as corrupt President as several of the ones before him were. Even President Nixon, the man who started having his troops busted for drugs was impeached himself.
