Technology has transformed the lives of people world over. Its like living among people who wake up with a alarm on their digital clock, quick heat breakfast in a microwave oven, call to confirm their flight time, send an email to wish someone happy birthday, and e-mail a card instead of go shop for it. Technology has saved us loads of time and has made life easier for all of us.

There are many things that are now organized in computer databases and can be accessed with a click of a mouse. Earlier in the absence of technology huge volumes of paperwork had to sift through to locate a small piece of data. Manual work can take up immense amount of time and energy, whereas computers help save time for all that one wants to do while wrapping up work at an instant.

Today, mobile phones have Internet connections where data can be accessed without wasting a single minute, Google and other search engines have replaced huge volumes of encyclopedias that had to be purchased. Convenience is a key advantage of all technological innovations. Another aspect which has speeded up communication includes the use of email instead of the late delivery through regular posts. Writing letters has almost been completely replaced by emails. This has increased the pace of life itself where people world over separated by huge distances can bridge this distance by just taking a second to leave a message through their laptops or palmtops or even cell phones. Cell phones are yet another blessing in our busy lives where you don't have to wait to get access to a land line phone to contact someone at home or convey an important message.

Now many companies are using the DSL and ISDN connections that are much faster than a regular modem. This again helps save a lot of time. Thus, as more and more innovations take place, accomplishing tasks is not a matter of hours but of minutes and results can be seen in an instant. Technology has brought about more innovations like robots and expert systems. Many hospitals, credit agencies etc. are using expert systems that help speed up the process and reduce the decision making time of several months by humans to just a few minutes. This speeds up processes and lowers costs in the long run as less manual labor is needed. Other things like specialized machinery, microwaves, and washing machines have also helped save a lot of time for other household chores that housewives may have. Thus, technology has brought about convenience for every member of every household.
