Whilst it is true that movies have a profound effect on our lives, it is a little far-fetched to believe one could actually cause people to abandon their beliefs.  Zeitgeist is aimed more toward those that are still on the fence when it comes to religion, and offers an alternative theory.  Many people are force fed the religious myth from early childhood, and threatened with eternal damnation should they choose to question the word of God.  This movie will not draw many people away from the church that are already devout believers, but it may prevent some from signing up to an out-dated and sinister belief that only serves as an ‘opiate for the masses’.

Zeitgeist has stirred up quite a bit of controversy due to its content challenging the legitimacy of the Christian religion.  The viewer is treated to overwhelming evidence that suggests Christianity was built on a pack of lies, and that its origins come from a variety of Pagan and other ancient religions.  The movie exposes the similarities between the story of Christ and other religious figures such as the ancient Egyptian Sun God Horus, and points a finger at the church accusing them of a mass conspiracy.  There is also the most obvious question of why none of the important historians living at that time ever mention a man known as Jesus Christ, adding to the conspiracy theory.

Anyone who has ever tried to challenge a Christian on the Jesus subject will know that they are not easily shaken.  Faith occasionally borders on fanaticism and those that believe will ignore scientific evidence by the ton in favour of their ancient fairy-tale.  The argument between creationism and evolution will continue for centuries and neither side shows any signs of backing down.  Whilst there is no way to prove indefinitely that either side is right or wrong, it is important to allow each individual the freedom to make up their own mind on the subject and not threaten those that reject one or the others belief.  Zeitgeist is simply an alternative opinion on the origin of the Christian religion, and should not be regarded as more or less valuable as the story put forth by The Bible.

Zeitgeist, the movie, is a conspiracy theorists dream as it not only challenges the Church, but also devotes time to exposing the 9/11 conspiracy.  It also explains the reasons why the Federal Banking System was created to produce a never-ending national debt and trap America into an economic slavery.  While some of the examples and supposed sources do seem a little shady, the documentary remains an important account of the sinister dealings that the government are practicing each and every day under the noses of the American public.  Whether or not you choose to believe in the conspiracies presented by Zeitgeist, it is an incredible piece of investigative journalism and will continue to broaden the minds of thousands of people, for good or bad.

"Will Zeitgeist, the movie decrease belief in Christian Churches?" The answer to this question can be and is obviously "yes", "no", or "possibly". However what is more important to note is that the question is a form of deception designed to distract people from Jesus Christ, the Truth! It's simply not an intelligent question. No one can deny that Zeitgeist, the movie is clearly an attack on Christianity. However, the only true God of the Bible never tells anyone to believe in churches or be religious! Rather He tells us that to be saved one must believe only in Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the Bible frequently talks about how churches will have serious shortcomings. The most direct example of this fact is found in chapters 1 and 2 of the last book of the Bible, "Revelation" or "The Revelation of Jesus Christ". Churches have shortcomings because the church is made of people and the word of God tells us from Genesis to Revelation that humans have many shortcomings. The Zeitgeist movement is run by Satan the father of lies. The greatest deception Satan ever pulled off is to convince people that he does not exist! That is because he hates us, is doomed to eternal destruction, and wants to take as many people with him as he is able to in order for us to suffer with him for eternity. But do not be dismayed because the God of the Bible is love and wishes for you to spend eternity with Him. An eternity free of pain and in a total ecstasy that is unimaginable. Why? Because He loves you and will forgive you when you repent and believe in the one He sent, Jesus Christ who died for our sins!

No one can argue with the fact that the problems of the world are becoming worse with each passing day and that the world is rapidly becoming more disordered. The makers of Zeitgeist, the movie and memebers of the Zeitgeist Movement have been deceived and have missed the mark. The problems of the world exist and the world is out of order because the vast majority of people have turned away from the God of the Bible, the God of order. One proof follows: Only God knows the exact number of true believers in Jesus Christ but an educated estimate is approximately 600 to 800 million. Based on the total population of the world, and if we take the higher number of 800 million, then the percentage of true believers is less than 14 percent of the total population! Logic and reason then dictate that the world is disordered not because of churches but because 86% percent of all people have turned away from the God of the Bible, the Creator of a universe that is ordered! Approximately 86% of the world's population are either atheists or believe in false gods. These percentages also prove what Jesus said when He said that the gate to destruction is wide and many people will pass through it, and that the gate to salvation is narrow and very few will pass through it.

Further proof comes from a prophecy quoted below by the prophet Isaiah written more than 2,500 years ago!

The earth mourns and fades away, the world languishes and fades away; the haughty people of the earth languish. The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore the curse has devoured the earth and those that dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left. (Chapt. 24:4-6 NKJ).

It is significant to note that in the book of Revelation we read that the earth will be destroyed by fire. So don't let Satan burn you! And again, do not be dismayed because "He will make a new earth and a new heaven". Do not let false philosophies and beliefs fool you with their cleverly invented lies presented to look like logic and reason. The God of the Bible is the God of reason. In Isaiah Chapter 1, verse 18 we read, " 'Come and let us reason together', says the LORD". He is not only the God of reason but also the God of Love. "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, for whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16 NKJ)
