At first, the concept of earning money simply by searching the web seemed a bit unreal. However after registering with MySearchFunds I found out it really works that way.

MySearchFunds is a company working with the biggest search engines out there, such as Ask.com, Google and Yahoo and has a pretty simple Modus Operandi. After registering with them you upgrade the search box in your browser (works only with IE7 and Firefox, however if you're using other browsers they offer you alternative method of making searches) and the whole thing starts.

Using that search box, you search the Internet like you did before and the results you're getting are equally accurate. So technically nothing changes.
Apart from you earning money.

How does it look from that angle?
Well, you earn on average 0,01 per search (yes, you are getting paid in British pounds), or as it's said officially 50% of the total search revenue. You can get paid via Paypal or via UK Bank Transfer. They send you the money after you reach the minimum of 20, 45 days after the month ends.
The fun part is that you can upgrade the search box on more than one computer. I have the MySearchFunds box on both computers at home, at my computer station at work and at my sister's.

Like any good online moneymaker, you are also offered the possibility to get referrals. And you are paid 3 levels down. Earning respectively 10% from the revenue your friends make, 5% from your friends' friends and 2,5% from your friends' friends' friends.

Who should pay extra attention to this opportunity?
I wouldn't recommend it as your main source of income. If you're searching for the sake of searching, sooner or later you're going to run out of ideas of what to search And let's face it; it would be a huge waste of your time.

However, it's a great way to make some extra money, for something you'd be doing anyway. Writers, bloggers or researchers, who spend hours searching the Internet for information they need for their project, could really profit from doing just that. Especially given the fact that the results come from the most popular search engines.

Another advantage of this program is the fact that the British currency is really strong, stronger than the American dollar. So it is in fact more profitable than any other online moneymaking program, because most of other online opportunities pay their participants in USD.

I know it all sounds really interesting. It really is and personally, I'm in love with MySearchFunds. But it does have a certain drawback. So far I couldn't find a way to register with the program without being referred first. But then again, it does make sense if the referrals are one of two ways MySearchFunds earn their money.
On the other hand, any resourceful person can find a friend or two to send them an invite.

While MySearchFunds may sound great - or possibly even 'too good to be true' - at the moment, "Paid to Search" companies have historically failed, no matter how healthy the companies seemed to be after they launched.

The first was AllAdvantage, which showed really great potential in 1999, and on into the year 2000, when the company had millions in assets. Even with those millions of dollars in assets, the company failed after just eighteen short months. The companies that followed AllAdvantage's lead soon failed as well, if they didn't fail earlier. The owner's of AllAdvantage even started a second company, by a different name, with the same concept...which also failed.

What 'surfers' found was that if they were paid at all, they were paid very little. Hours that your surfing counts are extremely limited, and of course the amount that you are earning per hour is very low.

In light of the fact that the owner's of AllAdvantage started that second company, with the same concept, and the same business model, is an indication that those who run such companies are in it for the short-haul, as opposed to the long-haul. They are in it to make what they can, as fast as they can, before the client's who are advertising with them, and the surfers who are 'working' for them catch on, and that business ultimately fails as well.

The powers that be at these companies have numerous reasons that they give for the failure of the concept, but there is one crucial factor: People are surfing in an attempt to make money. The ads being served up to them are rarely targeted correctly, and these surfers, who are only looking to make money - and not to spend it - are not motivated in any way to actually click on the ads and spend their hard earned money, or even their easily earned surfing money.

However, another problem exists for these paid to surf companies as well. There will always be numerous people looking to make as much easy money as they can, and this leads to rampant 'cheating.' It didn't take long for home-made applications to appear that would simulate usage - where the surfer only had to leave his or her computer turned on, and their surfing hours would rack up whether they were actually there or not. This resulted in added expenses for the paid to surf companies, because they were forced to develop and implement anti-fraud applications in their software, and typically, hackers, or fraud software developers, are much faster then the companies in this area.

MySearchFunds is operating with the same concept, and the same business model as all of these other failed companies. While surfers may make a dollar or two here or there, they won't make much, and they won't make it for long - and there are much better ways to make a significantly higher income online.
