The Tabula Rasa refers to the concept in the Tao of the Uncarved Block; thus in looking at the mind of a child that has been newly born we find that this mind prior to any experience is like a blank sheet of paper. Yet in facing anything unknown we all return to the original state of unknowing before knowing; for the one surely comes before the other.

Looking deeper we find that the Child who existed before it's Parents were created comes closest to giving us the conceptual frame of reference by which we might find the theme of restoration that attends the unveiling of the Tree hidden in the Seed. In this concept we find that this is no ordinary tree; it is something that could be seen as analogous to the sufic idea of the "skill that nobody has"; in other words only an enlightened adept can bring forth the divine potential hidden in the human soul. Who them can behold and comprehend the Virgin or Uncarved Block of Taoism?

Going deeper we must at once see that it is the unfolding of this potential that leads us through the process by which we were to originally become immortal; thus going from an internal virginity or pristine state to one of regeneration consciously directed before generation is attempted; the Child has within him what might be seen as an invisible blueprint that becomes manifest when it is "watered" or given the correct information from without. Thus what we are looking at is something innate inherent in the Spirit; for human nature is angelic; just as the angelic nature is archangelic; and the archangelic nature godly; and the nature of the gods Godly. Thus we see a kind of progression from "outer" to "inner"; the universal crossing the divine threshold to attain to that which is holy.

This means we are looking at the surface of the Uncarved block as universal; to go within as divine; and to reach the center as holy. The Kaa'ba of Allah in it's measurements has it's correspondence with the Cube of Space; the emanation of the Holy of Holies; the Cube itself in it's original uncreate form; a 4 square principle which equates the development of the pre-existent Child to that of finding the Four-sided Nature of God.

When one unfolds the Square one will find a Cross; the Divine Principle itself. The Key of David is thus the Divine Principle that is seen in the Object of the Cross of the Christ. This is not in itself an explanation of the entire mystery: it is the place where one should start; and a good beginning is "halfway to the goal" of conscious realization; we shall speak of application later.

"The knowledge of the holy is understanding"; as I once wrote long ago; may all who seek find the answer; failing that; you can contact me by sending me a note for further verification and explanation of the terms by which we might progress to the next set of ideas: that of why we were to become immortal in the first place.

Theory: Is Tabula rasa founded?

Tabula Rasa, blank slate or tablet, as it refers to the human mind. Some of the greatest philosophers throughout history have been proponents of this theory. Who am I to disagree with these great thinkers? My credentials include being a parent and grandparent.

If you don't believe in an innate sin nature, or the inborn ability to intentionally do what you know is wrong, watch children grow up. They are sneaky, conniving and hilarious. And sometimes smarter than you.

Toddlers are taught what not to touch, play with, or otherwise mess with in any way, for their safety or the safe keeping of the object. Tabula Rasa would have them then avoid these objects, because their blank slate has now learned the concept of "No." How is it then, they will continue to try to get to these objects? It is the built in concept of the forbidden fruit." They hate the concept of "No." This is not something they have learned, it is built in to all little children. Hardwired into their brains and difficult to control. A blank slate would just accept no and avoid these particular objects. A slate with built in information causes the child to test and retest and test again, even after punishment for their behavior. Of course, the punishment rarely comes from the grandparent.

How is it they will wait until no one is watching before they make their attack. Who has taught them sneakiness? Typically parents do not teach their children the skills required to be sneaky. How is the blank slate suddenly filled with information on how to hide, sneak up on, or misdirect their parents attention just to get to their forbidden fruit of choice. I don't think Tabula Rasa can explain their actions or their persistence. And it is this persistence which helps them grow mentally, to figure out problems, and to experiment.

If Tabula Rasa is the true state of mankind, why would we as a group invent, theorize, and otherwise develop into what mankind has become. Just watch your children and grandchildren grow up and you will know there is no blank slate working in those little heads of theirs. Those little slates have much more information than you would initially suspect. You will know they have a built in mechanism that urges them on to do exactly what you wish they wouldn't. But in reality aren't you a little proud of them for their intelligence and problem solving skills. Plus don't forget the entertainment factor. A blank slate would sure be a lot more boring.
