Being a father of two children, I can attest to the fact that birth is the most magical miracle I have personally ever witnessed. But, for at least the last couple million years women have been giving birth to children. Birth it's self is the miracle, not the fact that birth is given by women (not to take anything away from women for bearing this miracle, kudos to all of you).

"Thomas" was born a female and to eventually give birth to a child is as natural as the sun coming up tomorrow. Oh, there have been a few changes along the way but those changes do not alter the fact that "Thomas" was born a female and is perfectly capable of bearing a child.

Think of it this way. You go out and buy a Lamborghini with a 12 cylinder engine and all the features. You decide later on, for whatever reason, to go and remove the Lamborghini body and replace it with the body of a yellow and green Ford Pinto.

Winning every race in the Pinto division down at the local speedway becomes normal. Then everyone finds out that you've really been driving a Lamborghini with a Pinto body on it. Would there be even one person who would buy your story about how this car was born a Lamborghini but deep inside there somewhere was a pinto trying to get out?

Now that it's out, this "Pinto" should be seen by everyone as just a regular old Pinto just like any other. It looks just like a Ford Pinto. But it's not a Ford Pinto.

This car was born a Lamborghini and doing zero to sixty in like two seconds is one of the features Lamborghini's have from birth. Going and putting the Ford Pinto body on it changes nothing about it or it's abilities.

"Thomas" was born a woman and going and putting a man's features on her without changing what's under the hood means that this whole story boils down to a woman having a baby. It happens everyday. Thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands, of times every day.

If "Thomas" had the stuff under the hood changed to make her truly a man then this would never have happened because, by definition, human males do not have a womb and cannot carry children.

We all do whatever we have to in this life to get by and be seen by the world the way we want to be seen. Some people shave their heads or wear Mohawks. Some people act like punks and others don't want to be seen as anything other than an upstanding average citizen. I figure we all have our reasons for being the way we are and if you're happy being the way you are then you have satisfied the only person that matters.

I'm not judging "Thomas" on what he/she chooses to do with his/her own life. If he/she is happy and content with where he/she is at this point in his/her life then more power to him/her.

"Thomas" wanting to be a man and going half way through with the change doesn't change the fact that she has all the plumbing that she was born with that makes her capable of having a child. So let's not pretend that this is anything out of the ordinary.

The sky is still blue. The sun still rises in the east. Pi is still equal to 3.14159265 and women still have babies.

Yes

We, as humans, cannot always understand how our bodies work. Mystical and amazing things happen everyday of our lives. The fact that Thomas is to be the first ever pregnant man, is prof enough. God created our bodies to be in his image, so if that is it not possible that God also wanted men to share the joy and hardship of giving birth through actual experience?

Though Thomas was naturally born as a girl, he is now to be considered a man because of the body parts that he now has. The fact that he choice to keep his womb when undergoing the changing process, should have no say in the matter. All that matters is that the child and future possible children that this man wants to have with his wife are healthy, even if they are born from Thomas himself. It is the child's safety and environment that is important, not the way it was born and raised.

If one goes online and reads certain stories, aka fanfiction, fiction novels, or mangas, that person can see that there are many people out there in the world that have the insight and imagination that male pregnancies may be possible. Though many know that it might not ever happen unless evolution or God wishes it to be, they still want others to read what they have to say on the topic. One never knows what might happen with the right prayers, genes, and faith. I feel that God might, if he chooses it to be, let men and women really be equal and let more men be pregnant.

Does anyone know that between a male sea horse and a female sea horse, the male sea horse is actually the one who gives birth to their children? Yes the female lays the eggs and gives them to the male but the children come out of the male's pouch and probably see him first? What I am trying to say, is that it does not matter how, when, why, or who by the child was from, as long as the child comes into the world healthy and loved by its family, nothing else should matter. Not even the fact that a man gave birth to said child. Thomas most be going through a lot of drama if people only care that it was a man giving birth, not a woman, and not caring that a new life has been brought into this hectic world of ours.

I loved Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1994's movie "Junior." The main thing that grasped my attention to that movie was the fact that a famous "male" actor made the role of a male scientist becoming pregnant to prove a point. The point being that even if it is with the help of science, if one works hard at it, the knowledge and the process of it, a man might be successfully pregnant, carry the baby to term, deliver said baby, and have a healthy and stable environment for that baby.

To close this article, I would like to say that to Thomas, congratulations on becoming the first man in known history to ever become pregnant. You are the perfect example to all men out there in the world that it does not matter whether one is born male or female, a man can become pregnant, be happy with their lives and family, and to being one step closer to complete equality with women. Men and women are not entirely equal yet and this a step towards that goal, so Thomas, thank you, again congratulations on your pregnancy and hope there are more to come your way, and I hope everything works out for you and your new family. Stay happy.
