Yes

Why of course eating your greens make you grow. Haven't you ever seen what a can of spinach did for Popeye? What color is the Incredible Hulk. Last time I saw him he was green. When you have your money in a good interest bearing saving account, don't you watch your money (GREEN) grow? I know George H.W. Bush didn't like broccoli and it sure shows in his son. Isn't broccoli supposed to be good for intelligence? Greens may not make you really grow larger physically but they sure make you grow more healthy. The majority of us definitely do not need to be larger anyway. If many of the obese people would eat more greens and less Big Macs and Whoppers there wouldn't be near the problem with obesity that there is in the United States of America

I know there are a lot of people that don't like various green vegetables but there are a lot of ways that these vegetables can be disguised to get the green vegetables in your children. There are all kinds of casseroles with lots of cheese and various soups that kind of coverup the taste of vegetables that children sometimes do not like. I have a recipe for asparagus cookies and none of my family has any idea that they have asparagus in them. Make fruit smoothies and throw a carrot or a stalk of broccoli in it. It is easy to get by with if you don't go overboard. I guess I am fortunate because my kids all like most vegetables and my little six year old granddaughter is practically a vegetarian. She loves broccoli and carrots and spinach. She will eat meat but I think she likes greens and fruit best. Greens make you grow up healthy.

When I found out that I had Type II diabetes one thing that they told me was that I could have all the greens and salads that I could eat. I needed to lose a bunch of weight and with having to watch carbohydrates and sugars, meats and salads made up a lot of my diet and still does. Red meat needs to be limited and you can eat more chicken and fish but you can have unlimited greens. They made me grow smaller and definitely healthier. By eating a lot of greens and salads I definitely grew healthier and I lost almost 80 pounds and I still have 40 more to go to get to my final goal. If I couldn't enjoy my fresh greens year around it would have been a lot harder for me to control my diabetes.

So in the final context, greens make you grow and they make you definitely grow up more healthy because they are high in vitamins and minerals but low in calories.

Eating your greens may not be the single determining factor that will make your body grow but it sure will be the one factor that will make your body shrink! Eating more greens in place of other food groups will definitely cause your tummy, waistline, tushy and overall body weight to reduce. Greens are nutrient and mineral rich but generally contain a substantially lower calorie content than other food groups. So although body growth is dependent on a number of factors to insure a healthy development, eating more greens during the process will actually cause more additional shrinkage than growth.

Protein, calcium, exercise, rest, vitamins and minerals are all needed in the correct dosages to insure that skin, bones, teeth, muscle and internal organs develop correctly. It is essential that we consume a vast array of nutrients to insure that our bodies develop, and are able to maintain, good health to last through a lifetime of wear and tear. Protein is the prime builder of muscle, calcium and exercise the prime builders of bone tissue and teeth, and vitamins and minerals needed to insure healthy skin and overall body functioning.

Bone growth is probably the one single element that we associate most often with growth. Calcium and exercise are the two greatest factors involved in bone growth. Although green vegetables often contain some degree of calcium, the main providers of calcium are milk and milk products, cheese, yogurt, Tofu, soy beverages, or fish such as salmon and sardines. If we were to consume our daily measures of calcium from greens such as turnip greens we would consume quite a difference in calories for the same nutrition. Turnip greens provide 312mg of calcium per one and a half cups compared with 2 percent milk at 300mg of calcium per cup. Your one and a half cups of cooked turnip greens will net you a whopping 43 calories in comparison with your one cup of two percent milk which will give you 122 calories for the same degree of nutrients. It is obvious which food group is going to have you shrinking rather than growing.

This same theory applies to most of the other nutrients that one would acquire within greens. Protein which is the prime builder of muscle tissue and essential in growth, is generally found in meat, fish, bean or nut food groupings. All of which can be very calorie heavy when it comes to acquiring your daily nutritional levels. Protein can be found in greens but at much reduced levels compared to the above food groups. You would have to devour a tremendous degree of greens to acquire your daily protein requirements which would probably leave you feeling very full and unable to consume the degree of other nutrients that you would be required to. You would definitely wind up a wee smidgen smaller on this diet!

So if you do have a desire to shrink rather than to grow, then grab a fork, and chow down on those greens. Your body size is guaranteed to reduce right before your very eyes.
