For thousands of years we have survived without the ability to choose whether we have boys or girls, blonds or brunettes. Personally I have a lot of faith in our God-given abilities, and if He determines that I should birth a boy or a girl, then that's what I'll do!

The sex of the baby is determined at the time of conception. Hypothetically, if we could choose the sex of the baby without having in-vitro, wouldn't this upset the male/female balance on the planet? The very fact that it's random has allowed our civilization to grow over time. I can't imagine trying to decide which of 100 men should be the father of my next child because there are so few women to go around, or vice versa!

We are getting so far away from what these genetic-code talents were meant to support. We haven't deciphered the genome so that we can create life in a test tube. This kind of knowledge should be used solely for curing disease and creating happier, healthier lives. It's a waste of our scientific talents to use them for figuring out how to determine sex, hair color, eye color, or size of the child before they are even conceived.

What mere human could honestly believe that they have the power to veto God? If it was his decision for you to have babies, you will conceive. If you had some scientist implant a "boy" embryo inside you, and you birthed a girl, who would you blame? Would you send the child back and try again? Our society has enough issues to deal with, we certainly don't need to add this.

I have no desire to see this happen in my lifetime, and honestly it scares me that my grandchildren or great-grandchildren could struggle with such a sensitive issue. It's so important now to teach my children the foundations of faith so that they might have confidence and be empowered when these moral situations arise in the future. God is our creator, He creates each and every one of us with His own hand, and there should be no tampering with what He determined us to be!

The next step after human cloning will be this, determining what you want your child to look like. Then we'll be able to decide their personality. Soon enough, humans will die out completely of genetic diseases from lack of variety in the gene pool. We won't be able to keep up with the mutations, and our over-medicated and uneducated ancestors will suffer.

Yes people should be able to choose their baby's sex. If the technology exists then why not use it to make the desired off spring that couples desire. If a couple has a girl, but they also want to have a boy then I see nothing wrong with choosing a boy the second time around. If a baby is born with birth defects then a couple might want to choose the other sex for their baby so that they can have a healthy baby. If choosing the sex of a baby is going to improve the quality of life for people then it is a good thing. If a couple only wants one child then they can choose the sex of baby so that they won't have more children than they want or can afford. Everyone needs every advantage in this world that they can get their hands on, because it is a cruel world out there.

It is hard trying to raise children these days and maybe raising one sex would be easier than raising the other sex. Freedom of choice is what everyone should have and be allowed to choose the sex of their baby. Children are probably loved no matter what sex they are by their parents, but it is nice being able to choose a baby's sex. A family with both sexes for children is a blessing to have in a family unit. People can know what it is like to raise both sexes of children if they like, instead of wondering what it would have been like to have both sexes for children. Each sibling will know what it is like to have the love of both a brother and a sister.

Couples might want to have a boy so that their daughter will always have someone to look out for her even when they are gone. Babies can bring couples closer together and getting to choose their baby's sex can make that union that much more stronger. A couple might want a son to carry on their last name, so getting to choose a baby's sex can help with that longing. Fathers sometime want a son that they can call junior or even the third a blessing to a father's name by choosing their baby's sex. In many ways I can see why it is important that couples should be allowed to choose their baby's sex.

It not going to hurt anyone, but the couple if they make a mistake in choosing the sex of their children. Any life that anyone gives is a blessing that they give to the population of the world. One of the greatest gifts that anyone can give is life, so I can not see saying that anyone can not choose what sex that they want their baby to be. Bringing a child into the world is a miracle, so why sweat a small detail like the couple chose the sex of their baby. I'm just going to be thankful for all babies that are born no matter what gender whether it is male or female.
