The United States goverenment is responsible for keeping the American people safe. That is a huge responsibility. Goverenment officals should have access to any and all information that can keep the American people safe. This includes Federal Court records.

I know it is difficult to think that our personal information is available to anyone at anytime. I hate the idea that my phone calls, emails and goodness only knows what else could be read by the goverenment. A few years ago I would have been against this. I would have found it decetiful. What a person says in court, on the phone, in an e-mail or letter should be private. It does feel like an infringement on our civil rights, but the world has changed.

We now live in a world where terroist groups teach women and children how to kill.
Our safty as a country has been compromised. A group of terroists tried to take away our freedom, hurt our self-worth as a country. The only thing they suceeded in was making our nation stonger. It is our duty as American citizens to help fight these terriosts in any legal manner we can. If that means giving up some personal privicy, then so be it.

Our service people risk their lives everyday to keep American free and safe. They miss births, partys, holidays, funerals and watching thier children grow. They make sacrifices so that others may experience the freedom we are so blessed with. Service personal give so much of themselves for people they do not even know and never will. We can help them win this war by supporting them in every way possible.

A person who was in federal court was there for a reason. Court records could provide critical information to preventing an attack on this country or others. This is American. A person who was in court and cleared has nothing to worry about. If obtaining federal court records will help our service people win the War on Terror, the open every court record ever produced.

I for one have nothing to hide. Opening federal court records should only worry those with something to worry about. Change is hard. People have to open their minds to a new way of thinking. It is frightening to think about what might happen to our country if we give in on our principals and vaules. But an even more frightening prospect is what might happen if we don't. In order to protect our civil rights and freedom in general, Americans might have to compromise. It is all in the name of Freedom.
