A single, perfect red rose is elegant, romantic and sexy. It is simple, yet speaks volumes. It symbolizes passion and love. Women are more impressed by gifts that require thought and have real meaning than gifts that are flashy and expensive. It is so easy to order a dozen red roses, but it just doesn't seem as intimate and personal as that one perfect rose. Valentine's Day isn't about money or impressing co-workers with expensive bouquets. Valentine's Day is about celebrating a beautiful romance between two people. Its about showing that one special person how much you love and cherish them.
If you're aiming for a perfect Valentine's evening though, you need to be prepared with more than just a rose. Want to really impress your love? Make her a romantic Valentine's Day card. Yep... I said MAKE it, not buy it. It only takes two minutes to grab a card off the shelf at the local grocery store, but it takes real thought and effort to make a card. Make her a card that tells her how much you love her and I guarantee she'll keep it for the rest of her life. You've got to put real effort into it though or she'll think you're just trying to be cheap. Trust me on this one.
Chocolates are a nice touch too, but don't go for the 5 pound box. Instead, get her a small sampler of premium chocolates such as Godiva. Try to find some that come in a pretty, elegant box. Presentation is everything. For those of you who want to go the extra mile, go to the grocery store and get a package of ripe strawberries. Look for ones that are large and plump without bruises or bad places. You'll also need a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips. You guessed it. You're going to be in the kitchen making chocolate covered strawberries. Don't panic though. This is quick and easy. Rinse the berries under cold water, leaving the green leafy caps on. Place them on paper towels to dry for a few minutes while you get the chocolate ready. Grab a medium, microwave safe bowl and pour in the chocolate chips. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, remove from microwave and stir. If all the chocolate isn't melted, then put back in microwave for 15 seconds at a time until all the chocolate is melted. Pick up a dried strawberry by the green cap and dip the berry about 2/3 of the way into the chocolate. Place about 1 inch apart on waxed paper or aluminum foil for the chocolate to set. Repeat this until all the berries are coated in chocolate. Put them in the fridge to chill until you're ready to give them to your date. If you want to make a nice container to present them in, all you need is a small cardboard box, valentine's themed wrapping paper, aluminum foil, and plastic wrap. Wrap the box in the valentine's paper, line the inside with aluminum foil. Place the chocolate covered strawberries inside and cover the top with plastic wrap.
If you're planning to go out for dinner on Valentine's evening, be sure to get reservations. There's nothing worse than driving around from restaurant to restaurant on the busiest dining evening of the year only to be told that there is a 2 hour wait or no availability at all. Try to find a restaurant that is quiet and romantic with few distractions.
Whateve r your plans for Valentine's Day with your love, just keep it romantic and thoughtful and you won't go wrong. Let her know that she's important enough for you to go out of your way to give her a special evening and she'll never for get it.

Roses and romance are synonymous and the one day that is fitting for a bouquet of them is Valentine's Day. Few things are as beautiful as a bouquet of roses with undulating layers of tender petals. The beauty and meaning of one rose is at it's ultimate with a bouquet. Sometimes less is more, but not when it comes to love.
A bouquet of fresh roses livens any room and with careful selection and care they can last up to two weeks or longer. Choose roses with buds that are semi closed. Pre-made arrangements are convenient, but having your bouquet custom made ensures the freshest flowers and a longer lasting arrangement. Forgo the ferns and opt for more baby's breath. The ferns tend to perish faster which lessens the life of the bouquet. Baby's breath looks the same whether it's fresh or dried.
Changing the water and clipping the stems at an angle every few days keeps the roses perky. Be sure to add the flower food that comes with your arrangement.
Just before the heads of the roses start to bow, take them out of the water and hang them upside down to dry. Clip an inch two from the ends. Once the flowers are completely dried, you can make a beautiful arrangement that will last indefinitely. Not only will you be able to enjoy Valentine's Day longer, the bouquet will pay for itself in lasting beauty.
If a dozen roses aren't in your budget, try a dozen red or pink carnations. They are beautiful and aromatic and mixed with baby's breath they make an attractive bouquet. Carnations can also be dried, but they won't be as detailed and pretty as dried roses.
You wouldn't give your sweetheart a chocolate chip or a single chocolate kiss on Valentine's Day, so why would you give them a single rose? Save the singles for every day occasions and lavish your loved one on Valentine's Day with the ultimate expression of love, a bouquet of roses.
A single rose is romantic, classy and beautiful, but a bouquet of roses is breathtaking. There is no better way to recapture your true love's heart than with a velvety soft, deep red bouquet of long-stemmed roses.
